Company is starting two dress-
making courses next Wednes-
day in the town hall, which will
extend over a period of eight
weeks, one course to be taken
Wednesday afternoon, and the
other to be held in, the evening.

Walker tSki Run. Visitors from
Sarnia, Detroit and London

The annual congregational
meeting of Cromarty Church was
held. on Thursday with a good
attendance of members. A pot-
luck dinner was served by the
ladies previous to the business
session, which was conducted by
Rev. S. Kerr, who opened the
meeting.
Reports of the various organi-
zations, given by the different
secretaries and treasurers, were
gratifying,. showing an increase
in the givings in all branches of
the work. The secretary's report
was read by Eldon Allen, and,,the
treasurer, Robert Laing, sub-
mitted a sple,,ndid financial. re-
port of monies raised.
The session report was given by
Templeman; auditor's report
by J. M. Scott; trustees' report
by A. McLachlan; report of the
cemetery committee by T. L.

Auxiliary met at the home of
Mrs. A. McLachlan, with the

presiding. Devotions were taken

Mrs. Calder McKaig intro-
duced' the new Study Book, "The
Church in Southeast Asia," and
Mrs. Carey gave the topic on
"Hope."
A social hour 'was enjoyed at
the Close of the meeting.
Thomas Oliver
Mr. Thomas Oliver, 77, who
farmed in Hibbert Township until
he retired and moved to Seaforth
in 1944, died in Scott Memorial
Hospital, Seaforth, on Friday.
For many years he was a
valued member of Cromarty
Church, and for thirty years a
member of the session.
He is survived by his wife, who
'was the former Jessie B. Hay, of
Tuckersmith Township, and one
son,. Dr. Fraser Oliver, of St.
Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, also
a brother, William Oliver, of
Winnipeg. -
The funeral was hold on Mon-
day, conducted by Rev. D. Glenn
Campbell,. minister of First
Presbyterian Church, Seaforth.
Burial was in Maitlandbank
cemetery.
