Returns Money
While Miss Bernice DiBing,
grade six teacher, in Sarnia, was
spending the holidays with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert
Dating, Hensall, her apartment
Was robbed on New Year's Day.
Registered bonds, change purse,
personal papers and $80 in cash
Were taken.,
Jimmy 'Boland, a paper carrier,
found the valuables lying in the
snow near the CNR ,tracks, Sar-
nia. He contacted the police who
traced the owner and telephoned
Miss pilling at Hensall.
The money was not recovered.
The bonds and personal items
were contained in a box which
had been removed from her room,

New Officers
The annual meeting, of the
Women's Missionary *Society of
Hensall United Church was held
Thursday afternoon, January 2
with Mrs. Q. D. Daniel in the
chair and leading in the de-
votional period,
Mrs, Sim Roobol favoured
with a solo with Mrs. T. J.
Sherritt, accompanist, Annual
reports were submitted ,and the
treasurer, Mrs. `W, B. Cross,
disclosed that the group " had
overreached their allocation of
$625.00

The annual meeting of the Hen-
sel]. Legion and installation of of-
ficers on Monday evening in the
Legion Hall, was preceded with
a dinner served by the Legion
Ladies' Auxiliary. Twenty-four sat
down to dinner, President S. C,

meeting,

Robert McKelvie has return-
ed to his home at Essex after
visiting with his friend, Billy
Shaddick,
Miss Margaret Mousseau who
underwent an operation for ap-
pendicitis at Clinton Hospital
has returned home and is now
able to be out again.
Mr. and Mrs. Angus McLean
and Kathy are leaving for Paris
on the 21st of January,to take
up residence.
Mrs. Thos. Kyle is confined to
St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
where she is receiving treatment.
Mrs. Inez McEwen is confined
to her home owing to illness.
Mrs. J. Allan returned to To-
ronto after visiting during the
holidays with Mrs. Ellen Buchan-
an.
Mr. and MrS. Leslie Adams,
Gloria and Harvdy, Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh Morenz and Billy, Mrs.
Jane Coleman, of Dashwood, and
Miss ShirleyColeman, of Exeter,
were recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Corbett and family.
Mrs. Robt. MacLean, who has
been receiving treatment in Clin-
ton General Hospital during the
past few weeks, was able to re-
turn to her home.
