Coach Bill Woodward sent a
band of hustling Mohawks onto
the ice in the second Pried
and they were rewarded for
their efforts as they registered
no less than three times with-
out a reply from the visiting
club,
"Black Jack" Dwyer's .goal
started. things off in high gear
for the Mohawks as the husky
defenceman sunk a 20-foet shot
from directly in front of the
Woodstock net after the Larry
Heideman -4m Loader- Don Gra-
vett line pressed continually'
around Purola guarding the
Athletic's net.
Bill MacDonald sunk the:Ae-
ing goal just 40 seconds after
Dwyer had registered to keep,
the gohawks' attack riling.
Leftwinger Bill °berth came
back 16 seconds after MacDon-
ald's marker to blaze a 30 -foot
shot into the top left hand cor-
ner of the Woodstock net to
score what later proved to be
the winning goal of the game.
'•Junior Dares, who played a
sparkling game for the win-
ners, picked up assists on Ober-
le's and MacDonald's goals as
he set them up with passes.
At 4:34 of the final period,
Captain Doug Thiel of the 'tribe
made a rink length dash with
the puck and slid a pass over
to an uncovered 13111y MacDon-
ald in front of the Athletics net
and he made no Mistake to get

Arrangements were planned
for more advanced members of
the Exeter Figure Skating Club
to prepare for their pteliminary
tests at the executive meeting
of: the Club held on Saturday
afternoon.
The tests will be under the
jurisdiction of the Canadian Fig-
ure Skating Association probably
held at the end of February
and will consist of 2 school fig-
nrei,and 4 plain edges. _

give private lessons if request-

ing of a carnival in the near

ENeter Legion Bantams con-
tinued their winning.ways on Fri-
day, night in Exeter against the
visiting Lucan Bantams as they
registered their second win in
a row over the Irish by a deci-
sive 9-1 score.
The score an Friday night was
identical to the one when the two
clubs met the first time in Lucan
on December 11.
Exeter grabbed a 3-1 first pe-
riod lead, outscored the visitors
3 0 in the second and added
three more in the final period
for Athe win.
Jack Stephan, Bob Jones and
Frank Boyle led ,the Legion Ban-
tam 'victory as each prOdeced a
pair of gaols in the game.
Don Cann, Gerald McBride
and Dale Turvey punched home
single tallies.
Peter Conlin scored the 'only
Lucan goal of the game early
in the first period,
Bev Sims, although net scor-
ing any goals, was credited
with four assists from his blue -
line position to lead the Exeter
club in that department.
Goaltender Ted Sanders, who.
had a eomparatively easy time
of it in the Exeter nets, came up
with some good saves when
called ilpon.
Gary Ketil,'Bob Neil and Peter
Conlin were the best men on the
ice for Lucan.
The next home game for
Exeter won't be until January
ga but in the meantime they
will be off to Hensall on the six-
teenth and St. Marys on the
ninth.
