Speaker of Ontario' Legislature Dies After Short Illness. A despatch •from Toronto says : The Hon. Joseph Wesley St. John, Speaker of the Legielative Assembly since the ad- vent of the present Government, died at the Toronto General Hospital at 12 eA•lork noon on Sunday, after an Illness of two weeks. Deceased was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, March 24. and al 11 recto& that night was operated upon for melte appendicitis. He made a salisfarlory recovery from the operation, so much so that toward the end of the first week the attending physicians con- sidered him out of danger. On Sneday.
