A despatch ,from Savannah, Georgia,
says: Dr. Oronhyatekha, of Toronto,
S preme Chief Ranger of the Indepen-
den Order of Foreeers, who came to
Sroannah in January for the benefit at
his health, died on Sunday afternoon
a' 5.25 o'clock at the De Solo Hotel.
where he has been stopping with his
secretary and Mr, W. W. Dunlop.
Heart failure was the cause of death.
Dr. Oronhyntekha had been suffering
from diabetes far 10 years, but it was
not until Thursday that his condition
became serious. The body was for-
warded to Toronto early Monday
Morning.. Mr Deplete and Mr. A. E.
Stevenson. of Poet Huron, Mich., ac-
companied the remains.

Poultice for Chilblains. -An excellent
poultice for chilblains is 'Tiede by scrap-
ing the pulp out 01 a baked white turnip
and mixing It xVith a tablespoonful of
salad oil, one of mustard and one ea
grated horseradish. Place the mixture
on a piece of sett rag and apply.
Value of Bed Hammocks. -When con-
valescence has begun, a patient usually
suffers much from the restlessness which
is generally a symptom of this stage of
the sic,kness. A bed hitinmonk will be

the patient is tired of one position, while
it forms a geod stepping stone to the
next period, when a couch is permis-

Salt Cures. - The curitive effects of
salt have never been known as they

persistent use of half a teaspoonful of

A guard patroling the track near the
station at the St. Petersburg end of the
fine caught a mart dressed as a work-
man in the act of placing a wooden box
in the middle of the track, at a point 2
yards from the Imperial pavilion,

vaulting the fences that barred his way.
He thus escaped to the cab of an accom-
plice, who was lying in wait' near by and

Cooped up In a hoxour on a fast freight
teeth, with two savagely fighting stal-
lions, was the terrifying situation ex-
perienced by Paisley Brothers, of Lu-
cian, on Thursday ufternoon. When the
train finally reached here, one of the
animals valued at over 411,000 was dead,
the other was badly injured, and both
men were severely bruised and cut as

enraged animals. The two stallions
were being shipped to Montana, and
were in a palace home car, attached to
