Jordan and Mrs. Harold Walsh; for church flowers, Mrs. Lyle Hopper and Mrs. James Walsh; manse comm., Mrs, Jack Anderson and Mrs. Herb Wheeler; auditors, Mrs, Harry Mc­ Guire and Miss Edith Procter, The meeting closed with prayer by the president- WJME.S. Meeting The WM.S. then held its meeting with the president, Mrs. Edgar Wight­ man in charge and opened with a hymn followed by routine reports. A special item at this meeting was the presence of a group of girls from Wingham District High School as guests. They sang several carols and Christmas numbers, under the direc­ tion of the muBic teacher, Mrs. B. Douglas. Mrs. Wightman welcomed the guests and expressed, the appreciation of the WM.S. for their contribution to the meeting. Mrs, K. Krug, assisted by Mrs. Lyle Hopper and Mrs. Wm. Kelly, read ---._!• . .... with The worship service closed with prayer. It was stated during the business period that the bale had been sent to Korea. The group is sponsoring an evening on January 5, when Miss M. Love; school health nurse, will show films of her recent trip to Europe. Mrs. Herb Wheeler and Mrs. Albert Vincent were appointed to look aft’er boxes and cards for the sick and shut- in members of the group. Mrs. Earl Anderson reported for the nominating committee and the new officers will be: President, Mrs. Edgar Wightman; 1st vice, Mrs, W. Scott; 2nd vice, Mrs. R. Chamney; sec., Mrs. Earl Ander­ son; assistant sec, Mrs. Herb Wheeler; treas., Mrs. George Martin; pianist, Mrs. J. M. Coultes; Baby Band supt., Mrs. Bob Coultes; Mission Band supt-, Mrs, Gordon Bosman; Missionary Monthly, Mrs. Carl Procter; associate members, Mrs. Bert Vincent; supply, Mrs. R, Nicholson; Christian steward­ ship, Mrs. Albert Coultes; community friendship, Mrs. Jesse Wheeler; Christian citizenship and gift fund, Mrs. James Michie; auditors, Mrs. J. Anderson and Mrs. Wm. Kelly. Mrs. George Michie made a sugges­ tion at the meeting regarding tele­ vision programs which are unsuitable for children and also those sponsored by the brewing companies. She thought the W.M-S. should do some­ thing about this and if all the W.M.S. members in the country contacted their local stations that it may help to _ better the programs. Mrs. Michie said that she was going to bring the matter up at the Presbyterial and also at the Conference. Mrs. Michie was appointed to draw up a petition for the next meeting when the members would sign it and take it to the local station. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction. The W-A, meeting was held first with the president, Mrs. Geo.. Michie in charge. She opened the meeting with a hymn and prayer. The theme of the meeting was "Continuing Christ”, The secretary gave her report and the treasurer stated that there was $393.92 on hand. The group decided to give $5.00 to the Upper Canada Religious Society. Mrs., Jack Anderson was appointed to purchase a pitcher for the kitchen. After some discussion, the group de­ cided to .order carpet for the audi­ torium aisles and across the front of the church. It was also agreed that the floor would be painted before lay­ ing the carpet. The members voted to buy a number of new hymn books for the choir. The naming of group leaders was left un­ til each group had its meeting in January. It was decided to continue with the holiday bells and Mrs. Stew­ art Procter and Mrs. Herb Wheeler offered to make the bells. Mrs. George Martin read the slate of officers as appointed by the nomi­ nating committee. The officers elected are as follows: President, Mrs. Geo. Michie; 1st vice-pres., Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler; 2nd vice-pres., Mrs. Edgar P. McLean Wins Lucky Chair Prize BELGRAVE—The regular progres­ sive euchre party was held in the community centre on Wednesday evening, P. McLean and Mrs. J« Young won high prizes, The winners of the consolation prizes were Miss Edith Procter and Bert Vincent, while the lucky chair prize was won by P. McLean. Lunch was served. Y.P.S.of its YPS Met on Sunday Evening WHITECHURCH—The the Presbyterian Church held meeting on Sunday evening with the president, Lome Forster, presiding and giving the call to worship, Mrs, Jas, Mcllrath read the Scripture les­ son, Jas. Wilson led in prayer. Mrs. McQuillin had charge of the topic telling of the local share in the support and the interest in foreign missions. No. 3, under the leadership of Mr. Don Cameron, tea­ cher and Mrs. Rodgers, musical dir­ ector. Mr. Wallace Miller was chairman for the excellent program of songs, recitations, plays, solos, recitations and piano solos.
