WHITECHURCH—Quite a crowd
gathered in the memorial hall here
last Tuesday evening, when Mr. Ken
neth McAllister, teacher at S.S. No.
10, Kinloss, presented the National
Film Board pictures.
The first picture of the white con
tinent and the expedition to Queen
Maud Land in the Antarctic, where
they used planes to find open water
in the ice fields, built houses for
winter, and used small boats and
aqua-planes, was in contrast to former
expeditions, and especially interesting.
The film on the great development
in industry and hydro power in the
pictures of Quebec compared the
methods people used while trying to
make a home in the forest, with the
big machinery sent in now, to clear
the land and make roads.
The group decided to pay the fee of
$10 a year and have the pictures each
month.

Her trip took her all around the

Alexandria, Egypt, and on to Port Said,
Beyrut, Istamboul and Pyrrheus. She
was to disembark on December 12, at
Genoa, Italy, and to proceed to Frank
fort, Germany, to spend the Christ

Mrs. McCarthy.
