FORDWICH—The Silver Star Mis­ sion Band met in the United Church on Sunday morning. Dianne Cars- well, president and Mary Johnston, secretary were in charge. The meeting opened with “Q Little Town of. Bethlehem”, followed by the Mission Purpose and the Lord’s prayer. The minutes were read and the roll call answered by 46. Mrs. W. E. Hainstock gave the treasurer’s report. " Birthday greetings were sung for Joyce Greer, Dianne Raster, Jimmy Taylor and Douglas Harding. The offering was taken by Norman Wil­ son and the offering prayer sung. Mrs. Robert Gibson conducted the election of officers for 1956, the re­ sults as follows: Leaders, Mrs. Mel Taylor and Mrs, Robert Gibson; president, Velma sEurig; vice presi­ dent, Larry McDermitt; secretary, Fraser Pollock; assistant sec., Jean Seifert; roll sec., Ruth Rumple; door notice, Sharon Pollock; organist, Donna Wray, The carol “Holy Night” was sung. Mrs. R, Gibson read the story of “The First Christinas’’ and illustrated it with pictures. Prayer was offered by Mrs. W, Hainstock, The children were treated with candy by leaders. Mrs. Ronald Ballagh gave, a reading “A Christmas Tale.” Mrs. 'West and Mrs. Davidson then sapg a duet “’Twas in the Moon of Wintertime,” Roll call was a verse frpm a’Christ­ mas .card. Mrs. Abraham gave a read­ ing “How an Old Grudge Was Ended.” Mrs. A, Rutherford read the min­ utes of the last meeting and Mrs. Abraham closed with prayer.
