GORRIE : ‘ ■ .k . ■ ' UNITED CHURCH NEWS" The Mission Band will hold </ BOX 473 Chicago, Illinois, December 1st, 1955 rars Editor, Advance-Times, Wingham, Ontario. Dear Sir; At the recent National Show in Chicago, Canada captured the grand champion prizes with its massively magnificent Holstein bull, Rockwood Rocket, and Ayrshire milkers. Now Canada has repeated with champions for. the title of wheat king and oats champion at the International Grain and Hay Show. About 1,600 samples of grains and other agricultural crops were entered in competition. These are glories Ca nadians can be proud of, as they are in competition with the premier stock samples of grains and other agricul tural crops from 28 states and 4 Ca nadian provinces. . Viewed from all angles, Canada is probably the most bountifully blessed of nations, and as a homeland np country offers greater advantages. It is doubtful if Canadians in' general realize the many advantages and privileges of Canadian " citizenship. .Every Canadian should be proud to be a member of the Commonwealth and thank God for his heritage ancTmani- fold blessings. Mr. Wenger, as a native of Howiek (B Line near Gorrie) there has always been a strong >love in- my hegrt for my homeland. ’My 1 ‘'grandparents (pioneers) are buried in Gorrie.ceme tery. Many Canadian youth still come to the U.S. presuming pastures are greener. My advice to them is to stay and grow up with Canada and help develop its untold resources. I 'am sure if the above appears in The Advance-Times your readers will be reminded of their heritage and the glories that are Canadian. I sent a similar article to The Globe & Mail which appeared in thei^ November 1st. issue. ’ ■ I B■ I B B I8 J 1954 Mercury Monterey Sedan Finished Black. Air conditioning heater. Custom radio.
