Every child in Wing= ham and the surrounding district is invited to be on hand for the parade which the business men are planning in his honor. The old gentleman will arrive from the North Pole on the 2.05 train, and it is expected that many of the youngsters of the district will be at the CNR station to welcome him. Follow- ing the welcome there, Santa will climb into a specially prepared sleigh for a grand parade down Josephine Street. The parade will be down Josephine Street, left on Victoria and back along Diagonal Road. A special area will be fenced off on John Street, between Edward and Josephine Streets, where every child will have an oppor tunity to talk to Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. He’ll have his great bag of goodies with him, and every child who meets him will receive a bagful. After the meeting with Santa Claus, child ren are invited by the Business Association to a free show especially for them, at the Lyceum Theatre. There will be cartoons appealing es pecially to the kiddies, and Alton Adams, general proprietor of the Lyceum, will see that they're well taken care of for at least one half hour. ru id £4 ni tp n< $ K> K> Ml Ml Ml MW □in X •9 /■<' ./* .7' / / *7^ -,w '':s$fSr?A Mm w 6 > h 8 While the youngsters are confiding in Santa Claus or enjoying the picture at the Lyceum, parents will have an opportunity to do a bit of pre=Christmas shopping at the well= stocked stores in Wingham. Santa’s visit to Wingham has been spon= sored by the Business Association with a two= fold purpose in mind. First and foremost, of course, the businessmen of Wingham want to give all the children of town and district a real treat. Secondly, they want to prove to the people of the district that Wingham is the best place to do their Christmas shopping. Our local merchants know their customers and their customers know from whom they buy. There is no guesswork about the reputation or honesty of the local retailer* He simply can’t afford to give you anything less than full value for your money. No merchant wants you to spend more than you plan to, or can afford. All of the businessmen, however, would like to show you their wares and invite you to buy your gifts in Wingham/. &*• W
