ON® OF LARGEST
The new type pole barn on the Mc
Kee Experimental Farm, four miles
south of Moorefield, is believed one
of the largest ever built.
Dimensions are LOO feet long by 58
feet. The horizontal bunker silo, 18
feet wide, and 100 feet long, runs
through the centre of the barn.
Capacity of this silo is 350 tons.
About 75 steers will be fed in loafing
pen style.

The regular monthly meeting of the
W.M.S. of the United Church was
held on Wednesday last with 14'

dine, spent the week-end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Staple

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Small, who
have been visiting for the past few
weeks at the home of her sister,
Duncan McGregor, returned to
home in Toronto on Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Zinn
children spent a few days last week
at the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Irvine Zinn, of Woodstock.
Mr. and Mrs. John Purdon visited
on Sunday at the home of her sister,
Mrs. Gordon Moore, of Acton, and
with Moore families there.
Miss Loretta McBurney, of Calgary,
is spending a few weeks at the home
c-f her mother, Mrs. Shoebottom, and
her brother, Alex McBurney.
Mr Murray McDowell returned
home from the West on Saturday.
Billie Taylor stayed to help finish the
work where he was hired and Allan
McBurney left to go on to the West
Coast on a sight-seeing tour.
Mr, and Mrs. Walter James, Roy
and Leonard, spent the week-end at
the home of his sister, Mrs. Bishop,
of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer and
Brian, of Sarnia, visited on Sunday
with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil
Falconer, and with her parents. Mr.
and Mrs. Stacey, of Wingham.
The Bible Society will hold its an
nual fall meeting in the Presbyterian
Church on September 29th, and will
present, the Bible' story, “45 Togia
Street’’ an hour length moving pic
ture, at that meeting. Everyone in
the community is cordially invited to
attend. *
Mr. E. H. Groskorth had TV install
ed in his home on Saturday.
Mrs. Ewart McPherson was able
to leave Wingham Hospital on Sun
day, and her daughter, Mrs. Thos.
Wade and Rhonda, of Wingham, will
spend a few days here.
M.'rs. Francis Hamilton Walker, of
Cass City, is visiting with Mr.
Mrs. John Craig, this week.
There will be no service in
United Church next Sunday on

and sons, Mr. Oliver McBrien and his
daughter and Mrs. McLeod and her
daughters, of Goderich, were visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Laidlaw on
Sunday.
Misses Hazel and Mary Smith, of
Galt, spent the week-end at the home
of their aunt, Mrs. Allan Turner.
Mr. Turner left vith them on Sunday
to spend a few days at Galt, before
going to spend the next few months
at Toronto.

Wm. VanCamp finished the cement
wall for the new barn at the farm
of Henry Pattison, last week, and
men have been busy this week, under
the direction of Fred Deacon, taking
down the Fothergill barn. Many
neighbors and friends are going with
tractors to draw it home for erection
on the new wall.
The pupils of S.S. No. 9 E, Wawa-
nosh have been having a few holi
days while trustees have had exten- [
sive repairs made to septic, tanks at j
the school.
