He attended Seaforth District Collegiate Institute and was a leader in junior farm club work in the county. Coultes, on Tuesday evening, August 30th, for a shower to honor Miss Elaine Bolt and Mr. Johnny Nixon, whose marriage takes place on Saturday. An enjoyable evening was spent playing progressive euchre, with high prizes going to Mr. and Mrs.- Leslie Bolt, and consolation prizes going to Mrs. Bob Oke and Mrs. R. Barrett, Mr. Ted Fear, read an address to- the young couple, and presented them, with a shower of miscellaneous gifts.. Miss Bolt and Mr. Nixon each ex­ pressed their thanks for the shower of gifts. A lunch was served. Bly th Woman Dies After Being Knocked Down by Dog Mrs, W. N. Watson, 67, mother of three children, died in Victoria Hos­ pital, London, two weeks after she was knocked down by a big dog. Mrs. Watson, wife of a Blyth live­ stock dealer, was walking near her home, when a large dog, believed to be a hound, bumped into her from behind. A few days later she was taken to the hospital for an emergency opera­ tion. Complications followed and death resulted from cerebral hemorr­ hage. WHITECHURCH Mr. Billie Purdon phoned home from Mexico City last Friday evening. They had arrived there after travel­ ling from the previous Saturday night, when they left home. They expect to Mr. Herson Irwin has purchased Mr. David Scott’s house in Belgrave. Mr. Arnold Alton, of Ashfield, was in charge of the services at Brick United Church on Sunday, as this was Rural Life Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Scott left on Tuesday to spend the next few weeks on a trip through the West to Van­ couver. j Victoria. Cornwallis, formed at the church steps. Following a reception at the ward­ room of H.M.C.S. Cornwallis, the couple left for a wedding trip to Ont­ ario, The bride wore a linen ensemble in coral with navy accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. The couple will live in Halifax. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mc­ Crea, on Monday. COURT INSISTS ON SUIT COATS Sheriff H. Gillies ordered three male spectators out of Waterloo County court for not wearing coats. The three were sitting in on the trial of Thomas Jeffrey, Kitchener, facing breaking, entering and theft charges. Two of the three returned 20 minutes later, changed from their T-shirts into sport shirts and jackets.
