Montgomery, agricultural repre- sentative for Huron County. After harvest cultivation is now general. A large acreage is being prepared for fall wheat. The south end of the County is still badly in need of additional moisture. The cash crop farmer is having an other bad year, turnips, corn, sugar beets and white beans will be below average crops. White beans are ripen ing too fast and uneven, a consider able acreage has now been pulled. Some fields have been threshed and combined along the lake with yields as low as 5 bushel per acre being re ported. The plans were to use part of the money col lected for the stabilization fund to support the advertising fund, usually collected in the month of June. From the latest report many difficulties have arisen and the setting up of the stabilization fund is now post poned indefinitely, Ontario must contribute its share to the sales promotion fund and it now has been decided to make the deduction during the month of Sept ember. Unless 100% co-operation is received in this project, Ontario will fall short of its commitment. Produc tion in the month of September is many million pounds below the month of June. However, operators of cream eries and other dairy processing plants have given assurance that they will do all possible to make the plan successful. The advertising of dairy products is most essential in face of mounting storages. Manufacturers of the com petitive product are advertising their product through every possible outlet, Unless dairy producers do likewjs*, it is going to be difficult to maintain, a strong consumer demand. The Bruce Federation strongly urges the producers of dairy product to rally "behind the plan and support their own advertising fund. The floor price for butter is for a one year period only; with possible high star* age holdings next spring, the prior could he lowered, By supporting the September set-aside, each individual is doing his share to lower the stoi> age supplies.
