Rev, H. Hamlin Hall, of Edom, Mass., spent part of last week with Mrs, D. S. MacNaughton and John. Mr, Hal) spent some years in this community when his father, the late Rev. Edwin Hall, was rector of the parish of Fordwich, Gorrie and Wroxeter. Rev, J. V. W. Buchannan has re­ turned from vacation and took charge of the service in Wroxeter United Church on Sunday morning. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Brown (nee K. Lane) who were married on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Brown will take up residence in Wroxeter where Mr, Brown is princi­ pal of the public school. Word received from Mrs. Albert Gallaher who went to British Col­ umbia to be with her son, Addison Jacques tells of improvement in his health. Mr. Jacques has been ill for some months with a heart condition. Misses Margaret and Anne Wight­ man, Belgrave, spent last week with their grandmother, Mrs. D. W. Rae. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman joined them on Sunday, Other guests of Mrs. Rae over the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mrs. Herb Patterson and Miss Anne Douglas are taking care of the Mun­ ro general store during the absence of Allen, Mrs. Munro and daughter, Winnifred, who are on holiday at Am­ berley. Mrs. Minnie Surerus, of Detroit, and Mr. Harvey Fisher, of Marine City, Michigan, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thompson. Mrs. Surerus is an aunt of Mrs. Thompson. Members are asked to hold that date open until further notice. BLUEVALE Woman’s Association The Woman’s Association met in the United Church on Thursday af­ ternoon, the president, Mrs. R. A. Brook presiding. The chief business was the report of the parsonage committee, given by Mrs. Brook and Mrs. Stanley Darl­ ing, regarding floor coverings for the parsonage, Their purchase was ap­ proved by the members. Mrs. John Wickstead presided at the August meeting of the W.M.S, of the United Church on Thursday af­ ternoon. The roll call was answered by giving the name of a missionary. Mrs. George Hetherington had charge of the study period, the topic being “Stewardship,” meaning stew­ ardship of time, talents and money. We spend too much time and thought on providing for material needs. Many are too modest about their talents and so fail to use them as they should.
