Mrs. Joanna Blackmore Passes in Listowel Mrs. Joanna Blackmore, 85 died on Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. H. Rapp, after a long illness. Born in Kitchener, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Erb and Nancy Detweiler, and had lived in Listowel most of her married life. Her husband, Noah predeceased her in 1935. She was a member of the Listowel United Church, the Woman’s Mission­ ary Society, the Woman’s Association and the church choir, for many years. Surviving besides her daughter are ( two sons, Cecil E., of Beachville and W. Glen, of Listowel. Funeral service was held on Mon­ day from the Harrison-Gibson fun­ eral home, Listowel. Rev. J. D. Martin, of Listowel United. Church, officiated and interment was in Fairview Ceme­ tery, Listowel. Mrs. Bently Shaw Was Chatham Resident Mrs. Bently Shaw, of Chatham died suddenly at her home there on Sun­ day, May 4th. She was in her 74th year. Turnberry 4=H Calf Club Meets The second regular meeting Turnberry calf club was held farm of Bert Holmes on Tuesday, May 3, at 8.30 p.m. Don Fortune gave helpful hints on the judging of cattle. The members judged a group of four Hereford heifers and several member# gave reasons for their placings. The club leader, George Underwood, conducted a quiz on the feeding of cattle.
