Group Four was in charge or the program with Mrs, Andy Edgar as leader, the theme being prayer, Mrs. W. King read the Scripture. The topic “Prayer” was given by Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Gordon Edgar read a poem, “Springtime Prayer.” The wor­ ship period closed with a hymn and the theme prayer, Mrs. Gordon Edgar had charge pf the business. It was decided to hold the annual garden party in June, A report on the carpet committee was given by Mrs. Mclnnes and held over until next meeting. The meeting was closed with the Mizpah benediction in unison. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Irving Toner, Mrs, Gerald Galbraith and Mrs. R. Powell, served a dainty lunch. VV.M.S. Anne Graham, assistant Eastor of Metropolitan United Church, ondon, will be the guest speaker for the Woman’s Missionary Society Thankoffering service in the United Church at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. Personals Mrs. Mae Jackson left last week for Dungannon where she will spend some time. Progress is gradually being made for the Howick Township Centennial in 1956. Tom Edgar, Gorrie, chairman for invitations, has received hundreds of names and would like to be hearing from you with a list of former How­ ick residents, Mr. August Keil has been confined to bed for the past week suffering from phlebitis. Mr. Robt. Graham is also confined to the house with a bronchial trouble. The epndition of Mr. Cecil Day at the McKay Nursing Home, Wingham, has been much worse for the past week. Bob Cathers has joined the staff of the local branch of the Toronto-Dom­ inion Bank. Grade I and II pupils of the Gorrie Public school and schools in the sur­ rounding district received the Salk serum for polio from Dr. G. F. Mills, at the Wroxeter Public School last week. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Quinlan of Shel- bourne, spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Toner. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Steckley and Patricia, of Smithfield, visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Downey. Mrs. John Doig, Listowel, is conval­ escing following an attack of pneum­ onia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Russell Adams and Mr. Adams. Mrs. Wm. Hainstock, of Shaunavon, Sask., visited her brother, Mr. Gordon Brown, and Mrs. Brown, during the past week. Mr. Sam Stinson' has returned to Gorrie after spending the winter at the McKay Nursing Home, Wingham. Mr. Ken Watson, ofc St. Catharines, visited with his parents, Mr. and'Mrs. Milton Watson, over the week-end. Mr, Leonard Armstrong, of Lapeer, Michigan, visited with Mrs. James Armstrong on Friday. Archie Irwin, who is employed by the Harold Kerr Construction Co., Wingham, was struck by a steel spring when a bolt broke. He suffered painful injuries to his left arm. Lloyd Ruttan, employed by the same firm, received injuries to his left wrist. Both are expected to return to work this week. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Brown visited in Beamsville with their daughter, Mrs. J. McRnight' and Mr. McKnight. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hockridge, of Toronto, were in town last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. King visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Earls, of Wroxeter, recently. Mrs. George Arscott, of Toronto, is spending some time with her mother, Mrs. Sandy Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Archie Miller. Mrs. Jean Brown, of Toronto, was a guest at the same home last week and also visited with other friends, returning to Toronto on Friday. Mrs. George Beattie left on Monday The Blyth-Belgrave Beef Club, the Blyth Dairy Club, and the North Huron Swine Club held their firsl regular meeting on Monday, April 25th in the Blyth Memorial Hall. The meeting was opened by the repeating of the 4-H Pledge. Following this each club held its election Of officers The Blyth-Belgrave 4-H Calf Glut elected Murray Neal, president; George Proctor, vice-president; Ruth Proctor, secretary and Gordon Smith) press reporter. The Blyth Dairy Club elected Willis Walpole, president; Wayne Jackson vice-president and Nancy Carter; press reporter. The North Huron Swine Club elect­ ed Dave Webster, president; Jim Coultes, vice-president; George Bacon, secretary, and Ken Coultes, press re­ porter, The president of each club present­ ed 4-H Leader’s pins to its club leaders on behalf of the club memberi and Mr. Baker. Mr. Simon Hallahan thanked the members on behalf of the club leaders. Then Mr. Baker gave the members some advice re­ garding parliamentary procedure and the conducting- of meetings. (TORY) GREGG Whose appointment as Western Ontario District Manager of Molson’s Brewery (Ontario) Ltd. has been announced by Mr. George Munro, General Sales Manager. Tory Gregg, currently President of the Ontario Hockey Association, is well known throughout the sports world, and joined the Molson Com­ pany as a sales representative in 1954.
