Irwin, who on Sunday, December 26tli cele­ brated their 60th wedding anniversary at the old home where their grandson, Kenneth Jackson, resides. In their honor, Mr, and Mrs. Jack- son entertained relatives and friends to a family dinner party. Mrs. Irwin was the former Marion Murray, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murray. She is in her 86th year. Mr. Irwin was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Irwin, also of Belmore district, and is in his 88th year. Blanche (Mrs, Robert McKay) of Broughdale, London, with whom they have reside^ since leaving their farm over a year ago, 'and one grandson, Kenneth Jackson, who is a teacher at Elmvale District High School. The couple are both enjoying good health and it is hoped they will con­ tinue in many more years of happi­ ness together. Personals Mr, and Mrs. R. E. Jackson, Exeter, spent the Christmas week-end with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. William Irwin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKay, London, spent the Christmas holidays at the same home. Wingham Motors SNELL - DOW A quiet but pretty wedding took place, Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, December 22, at the home of Mrs. Wellington Dow, when Eva Mil­ dred Dow, was united in marriage to Jasper John Snell. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Wellington Dow and the late Mr. Dow, of East Wawanosh township. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Snell, of Westfield., Miss Jeanette Snell, sister of the groom, played traditional wedding music and Mrs. C. D. Cox sang “O Perfect Love” and "I Love You Truly.” Rev. C. D. Cox officiated. The bride looked lovely in a gown of turquoise velvet with matching halo headdress, a corsage of pink chrysan­ themums completed her ensemble. Miss Ada Dow, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid wore a gown of salmon pink silk with matching halo head­ dress and a corsage of yellow chry­ santhemums. The best man was Ernest Russell Snell, brother of the bridegroom. After a wedding dinner which was served at the home, the bride donned a geranium rose knitted suit with black accessories for a wedding trip to Northern Ontario. On their return the young couple will reside on the groom’s farm at Westfield. Mr, Mr. daughter Gwenda, of Goderich, Mr. J. R. Eck­ mier, of Kitchener, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Gilkinson, of Fordwich. A very successful Christmas enter­ tainment was held in the school room of the Presbyterian Church on Wed­ nesday evening, December 22nd. Mr. Howard Brook, of Toronto, was a Christmas guest with his parents, Rev. R. A. Brook and Mrs. Brook. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Gallaher and family of Wroxeter were with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elliott for Christmas Day. and and w. DONNYBROOK WM.S. and WA (Intended lor last week) The December meeting of the M.S. and W.A. was held last Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Edw. Robinson. The meeting was in charge of Mrs. Sam Thompson and opened by singing a hymn. Mrs. S. Chamney led in prayer and the 10th chapter of St. John and the first 2 verses of Psalm 104 were read by Miss Elaine Jefferson. A reading on Christian Stewardship was .read by Mrs. J. R. Thompson. Mrs. H. Jefferson sang “Away in a Manger” Mrs. Chas. Jef­ ferson read the chapter in the study book. A hymn was sung in closing and the following officers were elected for the coming year; President, Mrs. S. Thompson; 1st. vice-pres., Mrs. Chas. Jefferson; 2nd. vice-prps., Mrs. S. Donnybrook Sunday School is hold­ ing its Christmas entertainment on Wednesday evening of this week. Mr. and Mrs. R. Chamney attended a dinner at Zurich on Sunday evening, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Craig of Goderich, it being the thirty-fifth anniversary of their marriage. ■ i Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Mr. Harvey Sparling preached a challenging sermon on “What Do You Believe About Jesus Christ?” in the United Church on Sunday morning. Mr. Mel Brown sang the solo, "The Birthday of a King” and the choir contributed a Christmas anthem. LOCKRIDGE BUTCHER PRESTON CHURCH GETS NEW ORGAN Believed to be the only one of its kind in Canada, a new organ which arrived from Germany, is presently being assembled and installed at St. Paul’s United Church, Preston. The seven-ton instrument will re­ quire three weeks of work to install. Installation of the organ is part of the $110,000 program of extension and refurbishing of the church Which has been underway for months, com­ pletion of which is scheduled for Jan­ uary.
