For Morris they are: Reeve, Bailie Parrott; councillors, Stewart Procter, Wijliam Elston, Ross Duncan, Walter Shortreed; school trustees, Bernard Thpmas, Robert McMurray! For Turnberry: Reeve John V. Fis­ cher;"’’ councillors, Herbert A. D, Smith, W. J. Willits, Mulvey. School trustees, Edward Bert Holmes, Eldon Kirton. Powell, The Turnberry council meeting was very quiet and the business quickly despatched, Isaac Wright was nomi­ nated for councillor, but withdrew. Harvey Timfn and Edward Walker were nomineees for school area trus­ tees but they also withdrew, Relatives In Bluevale Hubert Evans, a free lance writer^ living in British Columbia, has re­ cently written a novel about the Ind- d’ians of that province, entiled “Mist on the River”, and the reviewers have- given it very favorable comments. Mr. Evans was born in Galt and is a cousin of Mrs. Edward Johnston, of Bluevale. His stories have appeared in several Canadian periodicals, one be­ ing Onward, a Sunday School publica­ tion of the United Church. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brook and family, of Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Toni Gaston and Mr. Howard Brook, all of Toronto, spent Sunday with their parents, Rev. R. A. Brook and Mrs. Brook. Mr. and Mrs. Neil MacLean, of Tor­ onto, visited Mrs. MacLean’s mother, Mrs. Geo. Thornton, at the week-end. Mrs. Arthur Field and Mrs. Harold Harris and Barrie, of Lambeth, were Visitors with relatives over the week­ end. Visitor^ at the home of Reeve John Fischer and Mrs. Fischer is Mr. Fis­ cher’s mother, Mrs. Fischer, of Brus­ sels. Rev. Maurice McNab, Mrs. McNab and Miss McNab spent a few days in Toronto. Mr. Bernard Lillow, of Lpndon, visited his mother, Mrs. Nellie Lil- low. Mr, Norman Ohm, of Neustadt, vis­ ited Mr. and Mrs. Alex McCrackin. The Presbyterian Sunday School will hold a Chistmas concert on Wed­ nesday evening, December 22nd., at 8.30 p.m. The United Church choir is practis­ ing for a Cantata to be given on Sun­ day evening, December 19th. Mr. and-Mrs. Stanley Elliott, of St. Catharines, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Elliott. The Y.P.U. of the United Church met on Sunday evening. The presi­ dent, Jack Horton, presided. Kenneth Johnston had charge of the topic, “The Value of the Church”, Eleanor Smith was pianist. Spiritual and Moral Needs Stressed at Huron Presbytery Dr, U. Laite, Central United Church, Stratford, told the leaders of Huron Presbytery, that Churchill, Montgom­ ery and other outstanding world lead­ ers had declared that the greatest needs today were spiritual and moral. From these remarks the speaker out­ lined the part that elders play ip pro­ moting these needs. This special service was held in Northside United Church Sunday night with a large representation made up of elders from nearly every charge in the Presbytery. It was sponsored by the Council of United Church Men and its president, Orval Harrison, conducts*! the ser­ vice. William Jewett, Harvey John­ ston and William Currie assisted. Communion was served at the close of the service by Rev, Stinson and elders of Northside, after which Dr. Laite conducted a discussion period.
