"Most successful” was the comment
by the officers and those attending
the annual bazaar of the Ladies’
Guild of St. Paul’s Anglican Church,
held in the Parish Room last Wed
nesday. The event was officially
opened by the Rector, the Reverend H.
L. Parker who welcomed those present
on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild.
The decorations in the parish room
carried out the Christmas theme with
evergreen, wreaths and small, gaily
decorated Christmas* trees. The tea
table was centred with a Santa Claus
sleigh filled with small parcels.
As the guests entered the room they
were greeted by Mrs. W. M. Connell,
president of the Ladies’ Guild and
Mrs. H. L. Parker, Arranged along
one side ' of the room were the
counters displaying aprons, candy,
bake goods, knitted goods, novelties,
table centre-pieces, winter bouquets,
handmade aluminum trays, produce
at the country store, the "post office”;
ivy grown from, slips picked at the
“Little Church Around the Corner” in
New York City, as well as many other
articles and displays. On the far side
of the room, the Evening Guild pre
sented their newly published Tower
Cook Books and several displays of
attractive Christmas cards.
One of the busiest places
afternoon was the tea room,
many paused to have a cup
with their friends. •
Mrs. D, B. Porter, treasurer
Guild, reports that returns are in
complete as many orders for articles
sold out early’ in the afternoon are
still to be filled.
The Ladies’ Guild wishes to thank
all who helped to make their bazaar
so successful.
