THE STERLING TRUSTS CORPORATION PROGRESSIVE EDUCATION TOPIC AT WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING At a meeting of the Women’s stitute on Thursday, Miss Isabel Speirs, teacher in Bluevale School was the guest speaker. Her topic was ’‘Education.” Among many interest­ ing things she told the members was that the system in the schools is. call­ ed ‘‘progressive Education” the 3 B’s of yesteryear “Reading, Writing and Arithmetic” is now changed to “Right, Respect and Responsibility,” She stressed the visual methods' of teaching, sightseeing, travel and also television. Her subject was of great interest to the members and she im­ pressed everyone by her youthful en­ thusiasm and her fluency. She con­ cluded her talk by telling of a trip she took last Easter by air from New York to Bermuda, describing the Island. It’s masses of lovely flowers, narrow roads, few beaches and fine hotels. The Institute decided to hold at least one euchre party in the Com­ munity Hall before Christmas. A social hour was enjoyed following the meeting. Mrs, Horton, the hostess, was assisted by Mrs. H. Robertson, Mrs. Carl Johnston and Mrs. Bert Garniss. W. I. Offer Help At the regular meeting of the Wo­ men’s Institute on Thursday, Novem­ ber 18th, a motion was passed that the Institute would assist the com­ munity Hall Board in any way .they could to make improvements in the Hall. ' The Hall is an important public building in this community. It is used extensively and many of us wonder how we could get along without it, however it needs decorating and im­ provements to make it more efficient, especially for serving food. The committee was< appointed to meet with the Hall board to find out how best the Institute can help in this project. At Course At Molesworth Mrs. Stanley Darling, Mrs, J.
