SHARPIN—In memory of
Sharpin, who was killed the
of November, 1952.
So many things h^ve happened
Since you were called away,
Things you would have enjoyed
Had you been left to stay.
So many things to share with you
In just the usual way,
Things that could be much nicer
If you were here today.
The blow was great, the shock severe,
We little thought death so near,
Only those who have lost can tell
The sorrow of parting without a
farewell.

At a baptismal service in Wingham
United Church on Sunday morning,
the following children were christened
by the minister, Rev. D. J. MacRae
Sharon Jane, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Orvis; Susan Loraine,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Wil
liams; Bonnie Marie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence White; Janis
Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al-
lister Green; Ruth Ellen, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Currie; Bradley
John, son of Mr., and Mrs. .Jack
Lewis; John Duane, son of Mr. and.
Mrs. John L. Currie; James Robert,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Case-*
more; Douglas Wayne, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Casemore; John William,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Schipper.
This being Armistice Sunday, Mr.
MacRae spoke on the .subject, "Christ’s
Way to Peace”. He mentioned the
different wars of the century and
what they had accomplished. War is’
brought about by selfishness and
pride among the nations. Speaking of
Korea, he drew a picture of what
would happen if war came to our
community. The Church has the
great task of holding up the Cross
of Christ among the nations as a
symbol of peace/ The only alternative
to war is to adopt a principle of love
and make it work. That is Christ’s
way of peace.
Music was provided by the choir
under the leadership of the new or

TO PHEASANT
A pheasant flew through a window
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. R.
Spicer on the Main street, and was
later released minus a few feathers.
The window did not fare so well, and
glass was sprayed about the living
room. Mrs. Spicer thought at first
that there had been an explosion. The
smashed window was alongside a
large picture window in a new home
at Otterville.
