The Presbyterian W.M.S, 'met in the-
church on Wednesday evening, Sept,
1st. Jvfrs. E. Nichol, the president,
opened the meeting with call to wor
ship nnd prayer. The secretary, Mrs,
L. Felker, rend the minutes and the
treasurer, Mrs, H. Robertson, gave the
financial report.
The members were reminded that
all donations for the bale must be in
before the end of the month.
Mrs. Wm. Mundell was in charge
of the study period. The Scriptnre and

Hasting, of Hamilton, prfeached in the
Presbyterian Churches of Bluevale
and Belmore on Sunday,
Returned from Vacation
Rev. R, A, Brook returned from
vacation and preached from the Un
ited Church’ pulpit on Sunday, Next
Sunday Mr. Brook will take for the
subject of his sermon, “The Good
Shepherd.’’
To Dedicate Painting
”A'mural painting, “The Good Shep
herd”, on the wall of the choir loft,
in the newly decorated auditorium, is
the gift of Miss Viola Mathers, in
memory of her father, the late Thomas
Mathers, who was a member of this
church. The painting will be dedicated
at next Sunday’s service.
Paper on India
The president, Mrs. Milton Fraser,
presided at the September meeting of
the W.M.S. in the United Church, and
gave a Well-prepared paper on The
Church in India. Mrs. John Brewer
conducted the Worship service and
read the Scripture selections. Miss
Emma Johnston, treasurer, read the
financial report. Mrs. W. J. Johnston
was pianist.
Joint Meeting
The Mission Band of the Presby
terian Church next Saturday will be'
guests of the Mission Band in the.
United Church. '

Mrs. Wihnifred Wright, London, was
a recent guest of Mrs. Roy Turvey,
Morris. '
Miss .Marilyn Moffatt, of London,
visited her mother, Mrs. O. Moffatt,
over the week-end.
Mrs. John Hall is under the doctor’s
care.
Mrs. Neil McLean, Toronto, spent
the week-end with her mother, Mrs.
George Thornton.
Mrs. Alfred Hooper and family, Pat
ricia, William and Charlotte, have
returned to their home in Bowman-
ville, after the holidays spent with
Mrs. William Nicholson.
Recent visitors with Mrs. Eddie
Wadel were Mrs. Albrecht, of Wing
ham and Mrs. Cecil Falconer, of
Whitechurch.
Mr. and Mrs. James Youmens and
children, Jimmie and Alice, have re
turned home to Detroit after visiting
Mrs. Peter MacEwan and other rela
tives in Bluevale and Brussels.
The Women’s Association of the
United Church held the September
meeting in th§ $, S. room, Mrs. R. A.
Brook presiding, in the absence of
Mrs. Darling, the president. A flower
committee was appointed for every
Sunday in the month. The members-
were unanimous in. offering to help
the church officials complete pay
ment on the decorating and new car
pet.

With huge beef cattle and dairy cattle
shows, the county Junior Farmer and.
Junior Institute fair in addition to
other shows, there will be plenty of
judging going on.

tempt to lower expenses.
