The roll call, "How my garden grows” was answered by ten girls. The 4-H- bus trip to the O.A.C, at Guelph on July 27th was then discus­ sed. Mrs. Glenn Johnston gave a talk on garden weeds and insects and Mrs. Cecil Wilson discussed the freezing of food. Roll call for next meeting will be "The control of one insect I have in my garden”. Betty Grable - Dan Dailey of Torpnto, spent a few days last week with relatives in the commun­ ity. Miss Isobel McCann returned to Listowel Sunday after spending the past two weeks at her home. Miss Beatrice Hargrave, of Listowel, spent the week-end at hpr home, Miss Betty Brears, of Kitchener, spent the week-end with her parents. Mrs. Ruby Forester, of Toronto, is spending the summer at her home here. Mr, and Mrs, Norman Stephenson and little son, of'Brussels, visited Sun­ day With the latter’s parents, Mr, and Mrs, Cecil Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart, Listowel, spent the week-end with Mr, and Mrs. •Jas. Vittie. Mr. and Mrs, Lyle Simmons, Miss Evelyn Simmons and Doug’ Wildfang spent Sunday at Port Bigin. Mr, and Mrs, George Moss, of Galt, are spending a week at the home* of Mr, and Mrs. Bob Campbell, Mrs, George Wipp and son Paul, of Galt, also Miss Ardyth Campbell, of Cordova Mines, are spending two weeks at the home of the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs, Earld Patter­ son.Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pollock and family, of Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pollock, of Kincardine, Mrs. James Pollock, af Ripley, Mrs. D. L. Strachan, of Port Elgin, Mr. and Mrs, Bob Dane, -of Gorrie, Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Bielby of Niagara Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sampson and family, of St. Catharines, enjoyed a picnic on Sunday, on the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollock. Dr, W. Faud, Mrs. Strachan and son Robert, of Chicago, visited last week with the former’s uncle, Mr. and Mrs. MacDonald. Anyone in the community having relatives who would like to have an invitation to the centennial on Aug­ ust 7th and 8th please contact the committee and hand in their address. The co-operation of everyone is needed to make this a success. Thirty ladies of the Women’s Insti­ tute enjoyed a bus trip to the O.A.C, ;at Guelph last Friday. They were taken through the college and grounds and enjoyed the hat parade and flor­ al arrangement, Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Simmermaker, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Askin, spent Sunday in Lon’don, where they visited with Mr. Roy Askin at Victoria Hospital, Mr. and Mrs. JackxBricker and two children, Miss Sheila Denny and Mr. Frank Benin, of Kitchener, visited on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore. Mrs. Bricker and family remained for a longer visit. Miss ' Phyllis Keith, of Toronto, spent the week-end with her par­ ents, Mr, and Mrs. Alex Keith, Mr, Bill Johnston, of Stratford, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs.‘Jim Warrell, Miss Shirley Ashton, of Toronto, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Ashton, Congratulations to Mr- and Mrs. Dick Aldrich, who on Saturday, July 17, cerebrated their 25th wedding an­ niversary. Dr. and Mrs. Forde and family spent several days last week at Point Clarke. Mrs. E, Hainstock left on Sunday to spend two weeks at Lions Head with Mr, and Mra J. R, Lynn. Mr. and Mrs. Royden Levitt spent one day last week in Kitchener, Miss Mary Cattapach spent last week with friends in Mount Forest. Mr. and Mrs. Earld Patterson and Mrs. B. Bennett were in Tara one day last week attending the funeral of a relative. Master John Lowry, of Arthur, and Mr, Clayton Brown, of Hearst, vis­ ited last week at the home of Mr, and Mrs, Jack Brown. WHITECHURCH Mrs. McNab and her daughter, Of Toronto, visited on Friday with Mrs. Turner. Mrs. McNab is the widow of Rev. Andrew McNab who preached in the Presbyterian Church here 60 years ago. 0
