Mr. Bryce gave words of welcome to the guests and G. H. Linklater, of Kincardine, replied. He told some very amusing stories of the past, including one about his grandmother, who was visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Bryce. When she arrived at Wingham and was told that it was 5% miles to the Bryce farm, she is reported to have said, “Oh, well I think I can make it,” At that time the road went the long way around, past the present cemetery On arriving at the farm she found that about three acres had been clear ed, and a shanty was standing in the clearing. The house had not yet been built. The late George Bryce took up the land almost 100 years ago, and he and his wife worked out a home to gether and made what is now one of the fine farm homes of Turnberry township. Arthur Turnbull, of. Toronto, gave a history of the Turnbull clan in Scot land. Races were held for the youngsters, and all had an enjoyable afternoon, after which- dinner was served. The oldest member present was Mrs. J. Linklater of Kincardine, and the youngest was William Sturdy, of Owen Sound. Visitors were present ■ from Galt, London, Guelph, St. Catherines, Owen Sound, Jarvis, Kincardine and Turn berry.
