Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week are Dollar
Saving Days in Wingham, and much of the space in this
week’s issue of the Advance-Times is devoted to adver
tisements of the merchants participating in this venture.
The advertisements have been prepared with the pur;
pose of letting people in Windham and the surrounding
district know that Wingham is a good place in which
to shop.
For some time now the members of the Wingham Busi
ness Association have been preparing for this event.
They have gone through their stock, reducing prices on
most items, so that together they may present to the
shoppers of the district the widest choice of goods, at'
a time when people are becoming increasingly value
conscious.
This is your chance to make your dollars stretch. By
carefully reading the advertisers’ messages in this
issue, you will be able to make up your shopping list,
and plan a real shopping “spree” in Wingham knowing
that you’ll be saving money all the way. And the fact
that almost all the stores in town are co-operating in

this event will be your assurance that if you buy from
, the stores displaying Dollar Day window streamers
you’ll be dollars in pocket as a result of the savings. r :
Besides the outstanding dollar-values which may be
yours this week, there is a chance that YOU may be the
lucky winner of the cash awards which are being offer
ed by the participating merchants. For each dollar you
spend you will receive a free ticket on the draw which
is being run in connection with Dollar Days. Simply
write your name and address on each ticket and drop
it in the box which you will find in the store. The win
ning tickets will be drawn at the Anniversary Ball of
Wingham’s 75th Anniversary Celebration, on Monday
evening, August 2nd. Three cash prizes of $25, $15 and
$10 are offered.
Plan your summer shopping around Wingham’s Dollar
Days. Visit Wingham stores and see the attractive mer=
chandise and the low prices. You’ll find that this week,
even more than ever, it pays to shop at your friendly
local merchants. This is his way of saying “thank you”
for your patronage throughout the year. Take advan
tage of it.
