“It’s a small book, but an important one . . . my bank book.
Every week after making my deposit, I read my book. It’s
full of wonderful facts: Fact No. 1, that I’m prepared for
unexpected expenses. Fact No. 2, that my money is easily
available . . . Fact No. 3, that as my savings increase, my
money earns more interest for me. The smartest thing I’ever
did was to open a Dominion Bank savings account.”
It is the best way to save, and you’ll find thrift a pleasure
when you bank at The Dominion Bank.

They arrange themselves two or
three to a peddle Along; the length of
the needle and devour it from tip to
base. These larvae are peculiar in
that they feed on the previous years’
foliage while others feed on the new
growth. The appearance of trees so
defoliated is spoiled. If defoliation is
severe the tree suffers a severe set
back. *
A virus spray which has beep used
successfully against these larvae is
available from your nearest Depart
ment of Lands and Forests office,
This spray should he applied about
ten to fourteen days after the larvae
hatch. Further instructions for the
use of this virus will be given to those
who apply for it.

brought into function _various sport
schedules for the amusement of pupils
obliged to remain at school during
the noon intermission. Volleyball,
table tennis (a recent innovation) and
baseball have captured great interest
and aroused more than sufficient en
thusiasm to make such an undertak
ing worth while.
Since the baseball schedule is not
yet only half finished, a report on the
outcome of the games will not be fur
nished until a later date. However,
volleyball has come to an end and the
junior and senior champions have
been declared. After gruelling match
es in the junior cycle, XC finally over
came IXB to capture the junior cham
pionship, after winning their final
match 27-24.
In the senior division, the XIB boys
finished on top with the senior cham
pionship after dealing to XIIA & B a
sound licking 27-18.
I shall now move on to table tennis,
which reminds me of ancient Greek
tournaments in which prowess is
measured by the worth of the single
contestant, rather than by the work
ing ability of the team, In this divis
ion of sports, the competition was
very keen. Dave Donahue, a XIII
student carried off the championship
after a successful final match with
Doug Murray.
One might speculate at this point
whether the rapid approach of the
final examinations will dull the inter
est in the remaining schedules, or
whether a victory for any group now
would be conducive to serious, study
ing.
