Rev. Mr. Taylor, of Toronto, had
charge of the services in the United
Church and as lie was the representa-,
five of the Bible Society, he gave a
very interesting discourse, telling how
the Society has given a Testament to
each of our Canadian soldiers or air-
meh, to each of the Netherlanders,
Free French, Norwegians and Poles,
each at an estimated value of 17c. He
told how the work still goes on in their
printing rooms In England, printing
Bibles in 1047 languages, each year
seeing from thirty to forty new lang
uages added to the growing list.

Roy McGee, of Toronto, and Mrs.
McGee, spent Sunday with his parents,

When coming from their home in
Detroit-last Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. El
gin Purdon and baby, ran into a cloud
burst of rain at Lucan. He thought he
saw a truck approaching through the
heavy rain, and pulled to the side, his
car struck a culvert, swung around arid
rolled down an embankment eight feet,
and came to rest on its side. Mr. Pur
don managed to extricate his wife and
child. Ah were bruised and badly
scraped. They got a ride as far as
Clinton, and Mr. J. McIntyre brought
them on. Their car was a complete
wrpck. Mr. Dubey, of Detroit, arrived
on Thursday to take them and their
daugheers, who had been holidaying
with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
A. E. Purdon, to their home.

Training School, spent the week-end
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra

Miss Verna Game and Mr. Bob

was taken to London Hospital on Fri
day last and on Saturday morning un
derwent an operation on his eye, which
has been giving him considerable
trouble for some time, and of which
he has recently lost the sight, Mrs.
Porterfield has been with him there.
