Misses Shirley and Beverley Case- more spent last week at Lucknow at the home of Watson. Wawanosh. Misses Winnifred and Olive Farrier and Mr. Carman Farrier, who have been holidaying at Lake of Bays, for the past two weeks, returned home on Tuesday. Roy McGee, of Toronto, and Mrs. McGee, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry McGee. When coming from their home in Detroit-last Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. El­ gin Purdon and baby, ran into a cloud­ burst of rain at Lucan. He thought he saw a truck approaching through the heavy rain, and pulled to the side, his car struck a culvert, swung around arid rolled down an embankment eight feet, and came to rest on its side. Mr. Pur­ don managed to extricate his wife and child. Ah were bruised and badly scraped. They got a ride as far as Clinton, and Mr. J. McIntyre brought them on. Their car was a complete wrpck. Mr. Dubey, of Detroit, arrived on Thursday to take them and their daugheers, who had been holidaying with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Purdon, to their home. A.C, Norman Wetwood, of Guelph Training School, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Welwood. Miss Verna Game and Mr. Bob Watt, of Toronto, spent the week-end their aunt, Mrs. Peter McClenaghan returned on Friday. Notice To The Public! Mr, Alec, Porterfield, of Marnoch, was taken to London Hospital on Fri­ day last and on Saturday morning un­ derwent an operation on his eye, which has been giving him considerable trouble for some time, and of which he has recently lost the sight, Mrs. Porterfield has been with him there. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robb and son, Lyle, of Goderich, spent the week-end at the home of his mother, .Mrs. Thos. Gaunt. Miss Connie Simpson, Teeswater, is spending two weeks at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. AVill Conn. Misses Leah and Jean Currie spent last week at a cottage at Bruce Beach and Mr. Jas.
