The W. M. S. of the Presbyterian
Church, which met at the home of
Mrs. Jno. McLeod, in Wroxeter, on
Thursday evening last, opened their
meeting with the singing of an old fav
orite "Tell me the old, old story” fol
lowed by the Scripture lesson from
Psalm 46, read by Mrs. J. Sangster.
Mrs. S. Robinson led the meeting in
prayer. During the business period’the
very interestingly ''written minutes
from a most capable secretary were
accepted. The Roll Call was answer
ed with.a verse containing the word
"Worship.” The society was much
gratified to have another new member
join them at this meeting. The treas
urer reported over ten dollars on hand,
from three meetings and the first or
ganization meeting. This is' indeed,
very -creditable for a small group. A
motion was passed to send $10.00 of
our funds to headquarters. Miss Mae’
Davidson, Wroxeter, and Miss Doris
Sample, Gorrie, are in charge of or
ganizing the Home Helpers’ Depart
ment, and for this purpose will be
seeking for walling acceptors of 'their
mite-boxes. It is hoped that all the
ladies who have not joined the W.M.
S. will see fit to become a Home. Help
er and thus encourage the work of 'this;
Department. At the close of the busi
ness period Miss Davidson read parts,
of two letters she had received from
overseas. Following this the National!
Prayer was repeated in unison. The:
topic for study; was “The Goforths?’^,
and as contributions towards this'
study. Very interesting and vivid ac
counts of some of their work were
given by Mrs. Sanderson and Miss D.
Sample. A Biblical contest, the sing
ing of "Take my life and let it be”, and
prayer, closed this splendid program
which was in charge of Miss Mae Dav
idson. The hostess then served re
freshments. The next meeting will be
at the home of Mrs. Sangster, Ford'-
wicb, and the programme is in charge
of Mrs. S. Robinson.
