Beecroft, united in marriage Alba Lillian Hopper, Reg. N., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Har­ ry Hopper, of Wingham,- and Mr. Robert Earl Johnson, of Guelph, son of Mr. and Mrs. A; C. Johnson,'of St Catherines. The bride was very lovely in dusky rose chantilia, dress. Wearing a cocoanut straw hat with matching accessories. Her corsage was Talisman roses. The bridesmaid, Miss ..Irene El­ lacott, of Wingham, wore a dress of gaiety blue lace with a corsage of Sweetheart roses, and matching blue accessories. Mr. Frank Hopper, cousin of the bride, was best man. Following a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will make their home in Guelph. Johnston - McQuillin A very pretty June wedding took place at the home of the bride’s fath­ er, Lucknow, when Florence Gwend­ olyn McQuillin, Reg.N., daughter of Mr. John McQuillin and the late Mrs, McQuillin, became the bride of Mt. Carl Edward Johnston, of Bluevale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Johnston of Bluevale, The ceremony-was per­ formed by the Rev. A. A. Maloney at High Noon, Wednesday, June 4th. The bride wore a becoming floor length gown of white satin with fihger tip veil and carried a bouquet of Premiej Supreme roses and gyphsaphilia. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Robertson, Reg.N., of Wingham, was gowned in floor length blue taffeta with large white hat and carried a bouquet of pink carnations and sweet peas. Mrs. Johnston was until recently a member of the staff of the Wingham General Hospital. Armstrong - Grasby At high noon, Saturday, June 7th, a quiet by pretty wedding was solemniz­ ed at the United Church manse, Bel­ grave, when Anna Agnes, second dau­ ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Grasby and Harold Cecil Armstrong, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. David Armstrong were united in marriage by Rev. J. B. Townend, B.A., B.D. The bride was becomingly dressed in dusty rose marquisette with accessor­ ies to match and corsage of Briarcliffe roses. The bride’s sister, Marjorie, was bridesmaid, gowned in sweetheart blue crepe and corsage of pink roses. Mr. Gibson Armstrong, brother of the groom, was best man. The wedding luncheon was served at the home, of the bride’s parents to the immediate relatives. Attended Owen Sound Lodge On Saturday evening a number of the members of the local Oddfellows' Lodge attended a gathering of Oddfel­ lows that was held in the Arena at Owen Sound. WINGHAM ADVANCE-TIMES COUNTY AGRICULTURE UNIT WAS FORMED A county unit of the Federation of Agriculture was former at Clinton on Friday, when upwards of 800 Huron county farmers and their wives attend­ ed a meeting in. the town hall. Mr. J, W. Gamble,,reeve of Howick and chairman of the agricultural com­ mittee of the Huron county council presided, He reported a Township unit had been organized in each of the rural municipalities and that farmers and their families .had responded splen­ didly to the organization movement. Fred Watson, secretary of the commit­ tee was called, upon to present the sug­ gested constitution, This was read and adopted. Little Miss Arlene Hastie, whto has spent the past three weeks with her grandmother, returned home with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. H. V. We are pleased to report Mrs. Ross, who has been confined to her bed for several months, was able to take a short car ride Sunday. The many friends of ,Mrs. Wilford C. King will regret learning she is suf­ fering from an acute heart attack which she suffered'while attending the Deanery meeting at Blyth. While mak­ ing a satisfactory recovery, it will be necessary for her to take life easier. The C.G.I.T met on Thursday even­ ing at the home of Doris Galbraith with thirteen in attendance. The pres­ ident, Margaret Thompson, took charge of the business period. The secretary, Annie Anger, read the min­ utes of the last meeting and called the roll. This was followed by “Questions To Answer” by Margaret Thomson. Miss E. Stephens took charge of the •meeting and chose as the topic “Wor­ ship.” The C.G.J.T. “Purpose” “Taps” and a sing-song closed the meeting. St. Stephen’s Woman’s Auxiliary The regular meeting of the Wom­ an’s Auxiliary of St. Stephen’s Church was held at the residence of Mrs. C. Lawrence on Thursday of last week. The ordinary routine of work was car­ ried on for St, Paul’s School in Cards- ton, Alta,, which was followed by the regular outline of business. The guest speaker for this meeting was Mr. H. V. Holmes, who gave an. interesting and educational talk on “Customs and Symbols”, special mention being made of the Symbols found in the Anglican Church.
