The municipal election contest in
Blyth on Monday ..was one of the
mast keenly contested in many years,
the culmination of employing Messrs
Mogg and Quinlan as valuators and
assessors by the council of this yean
The vote was a distinct rebuke on
the 1940 council as not one of them,
with four in the running was able
to regain their seat at the board. The
new council with the exception of the
reeve, have had ho municipal exper
ience, but they are all men of good
executive ability and will, no doubt,
be able at the expiration of the two-
year term to 'give a- ’good account of
their stewardship. The result of the
vote was as follows: Reeve—W. H.
Morritt, 201; W. J, Petts, 84; Coun

F. J. Slovack, 78; R. H. Robinson, 76;
Jasper Cook. 73; Geo. H. Johnston,
