ing man’s supper, which were judged
by Mrs. Wm. Henderson, Mrs. Clark
son Martin, and Mrs. Orvis of Wing
ham, who gave the prizes, 1st—Mrs.
J. G. Gillespie; 2nd, Mrs. Robt Ross;
3rd., Mrs. A. E. Purdon. Lunch was
served and a social half hour enjoyed
by all. The National Anthem closed

The Junior Homemaking Club Day
was held in London on Wednesday,
October 9th. Five girls of the Club
Girl Entertains project, Catharine
Mowbray, Louise Martin, Mildred
McClenaghan, Jean Wejwood and
Agnes Gillespie attended and judged
afternoon sandwiches, dining-room
bouquet and planned a party and five
girls from the Garden and' Canning
club, Mary Caution, Mildred Moore,
Eileen McClenaghan, Ardyss Brown
and Grace Richardson judged carrots
and beets. The girls received prizes
according to the judging and to the.,
number of meetings attended during
the course, and all were awarded
money prizes.

Toronto and Mrs. Thos. Morrison and
Marilyn have been recent visitors at

possibilities of Farm Life. Miss Marg
aret 'Curtis and Miss Leia Agar con
tributed readings. Miss’ Florence Fow
ler offered her home for the- Novem
ber meeting. The hostess served re
freshments assisted by Mrs. Roy Sel
lars and Mrs. Milton Smith.

Former Bluevale Resident Passes
Word was received here this week
of the death of, John Thomas at North
Battleford in his 72nd year. Mr.
Thomas was the elder son of the late
Mr, and Mrs.- Philip Thomas...He
spent his young manhood here, then
went to the Canadian West where he
continued to live,
