The regular monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute will be held in the Hall on Tuesday, April 11. Rev. Mr. Bremner, of Seaforth, had charge of the services in the United Church here on Sunday and -reported the gradual improvement in the ill- iess of the pastor, Rev. H. M.' Wright. Mrs. Thos. Ferguson and children of Wingham, spent a few days last week at the home of her parents, Mr, and Mrs. David Gibbs* Mr. Alec Inglis and Jack also Char­ lie Henderson and Gordon Lynch, left last Wednesday for the latter’s home in Northern Nova Scotia, They will sell journals in that province for the next few months, The mission band of the United Church held a very successful social in the Church last Friday evening. The young folks gave a good pro­ gram, and Mr, H, Pollock had charge of the recreation period. Lunch was served and a social hair hour enjoy­ ed by all. Mr, and Mrs, Roy Patten, Lucan, spent Sunday at the home of her mo­ ther, Mrs, A. Fox. Miss Edith McClenaghan, of Bel­ grave, spent the week-end with Miss Genevieve Watt at the home of her uncle, Mr, Wm, Barbour. Mrs. Ab. Taylor left last week to take a position in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gaunt and children, of Marnoch, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. John Wraith and son, Roddy, who have been living on the Ed. Gaunt farm, on Con. 2, moved last week to the 6th Con. of Kinloss. Mr. Oliver McBrien, of Goderich, spent a few* days last week at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Jas, Laidlaw and with other relatives in this community and retnred home on Friday with Rev. J, Pollock who preached preparatory services in Knox Church, Goderich, that evening for Rev. M. Lane, ' Mrs. Walter *Lott spent the week­ end at ..London at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Orval Newby. . Mr. and Mrs. Miles McMillan and family, of Turnberry, moved to their new home on the 2nd of Kinloss on Monday. Mrs. George Agar and Mrs. A, L. Lawson, of Stratford, spent the week­ end at the home of their mother, Mrs. Thos. Gaunt. ' The regular weekly meeting, of the young people of the Presbyterian Church was held on Monday evening with Mr. Tom Wilson in charge of the meeting. Mr. Johnston Conn read the Scripture lesson and Miss Cath­ arine Mowbray led in the meditation period. Rev. J. Pollock gave the final talk on, How We Get Our Bible,, the Revised Edition, and Miss7' Grace Richardson had the topic, The Life Story of Daniel, Mrs. R. Pollock led in prayer. The meeting was closed by the Benediction, Mr. Harry Middleton of Lucknow visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robinson on Sunday. The regular weekly meeting of the Y.P.U. of the United Church was in charge of Mr. H. Pollock, who read the call to worship and gave the story of The Pitcher Carrier in connection with The Last Supper. The Scripture readings were taken by Mrs. Spar­ ling, Mrs. Herb. Laidlaw and Miss C. ’ Laidlaw, and Genevieve Watt had charge of the meditation period. Miss Luella Laidlaw and Mrs. Jas. Fal­ coner were in charge of the topic; dealing with Leonardo De Vinci’s painting of The Last Supper. Miss Agnes Gillespie gavoured v^ith a pi­ ano solo, and Mr, Millan M^oore led in prayer. The faceting was closed by the Mizpah Benediction. Mr, and Mrs. Chas, .Martin and Ag­ nes, Mrs. Scholtz and son, Clayton, were in Wingham on Tuesday attend­ ing the funeral of the former's bro­ ther-in-law, Mr* Wm.
