YULETIDE GREETINGS
“Dear Santa .....”
What follows that salutation is
as unpredictable , as a child’s
imagination. The letters below
prove the point. .
Santa allowed the Times-Ad-
vocate to peek into mail ,he re
ceived this week from children
in grades two and three at Exe
ter Public School. He gave the
T-A permission to print a num
ber which readers will find
amusing, enlightening and full
of surprises.
The letters were written by
pupils of Miss Velma Ballagh’s
room and sent on to \St. Nick
exactly as ...the. children. ,nepned-
them. They "^are-the. first -literary
efforts ever attempted by. the
children and. many , of them
tackled words they’d never seep
before.- Their spelling efforts,
though Unique, are surprisingly
well related to the sound of the
words.
While not all the letters Santa
received are reproduced below,
the jolly old gent assured the
T-A he has all of them on file
in his office at the North Pole
so he won’t forget any of his
penpals on Christmas eve.
