The letters below prove the point. . Santa allowed the Times-Ad- vocate to peek into mail ,he re­ ceived this week from children in grades two and three at Exe­ ter Public School. He gave the T-A permission to print a num­ ber which readers will find amusing, enlightening and full of surprises. The letters were written by pupils of Miss Velma Ballagh’s room and sent on to \St. Nick exactly as ...the. children. ,nepned- them. They "^are-the. first -literary efforts ever attempted by. the children and. many , of them tackled words they’d never seep before.- Their spelling efforts, though Unique, are surprisingly well related to the sound of the words. While not all the letters Santa received are reproduced below, the jolly old gent assured the T-A he has all of them on file in his office at the North Pole so he won’t forget any of his penpals on Christmas eve. ★ * Exeter, Ont., Dec. 14, 1956.
