Religious education will be • taught to senior grades at Exe­ ter Public School by local minis- ; tcrs> after the first of the year. i This was decided :by the board Monday night when it accepted an offer’from the ministerial as­ sociation to provide the instruc­ tion. , Religious education is being taught now by teachers on the staff. Under the new’ arrange- iment, the ministers will lecture < children in the senior grades one- half hour each week. They will i teach the course outlined by the i Ontario Department of Education. Rev; Samuel Kerr, Rev. N. D. Knox and Rev. H. J. Snell pre­ sented the proposal to the board. Rev, Knox has conducted similar I courses in Vai D'or. I The- instruction will be given only by those ministers whose ! churches are members of the World Council of Churches. The board gave Principal A. B. Idle the authority to discourage children bringing lunches to school. The principal reported the pract.ce was getting out of hand.
