The guest speaker, vice presi­ dent of Sectional W.M.S., Mrs. Fred Heaman of Parkhill dis- 1 cussed the work of the W.M.S. including the packing of bales, Mrs. Macintosh "presided for the W.A. meeting. Plans were made to cater for the Masonic banquet to be held in Lucan Memorial Centre, October Date set for the bazaar November 16. Birthday Party A family birthday party held at the home of Mr. Mrs, J. H. Paton when Mr. Paton and his niece, Mrs Aileen Riehl were honored. Twenty-one were seated at a table centred with a Thanksgiv­ ing arrangement of fruit and flowers. .A gift table held a-n ar­ rangement of, 'mums and the large decorated ■ birthday cake. Following the turkey dinner, Mr. Paton was presented with a fold­ ing aluminum lawn chair and other gifts. The Woodham girl was crown-1 ed with a floral coronet and re-J ceived nearly 40 presents from Kinsmen and local merchants. She was a runner-up in the first I Huron Agricultural Queen con-t test held at last year’s Exeter I Fall Fair. Second prize went to Beverley Ravelie of Grand Bend, a prize­ winner in the “Miss Grand Bend” contest at the summer resort on Labor Day. Beverley Neil, of Crediton, placed third. Judges for» the competition were Kin President Lloyd Ford, Past President Sheldon Wein and second Vice-President Gor­ don Baynham. Third feature on the- program was exhibitions by the Aylmer Step Dancers, a Cromarty group which performed on Cliff Mac­ kay’s TV show • last season. Members included Fred Har- burn, Mrs. Ed Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Houghton, Glen Clark, Greta Pfaff, and Mr, and Mrs. Jim Petrie. Nearly 1,000 attended the jam­ boree, which lasted until 3.30 in the morning. Two bands who provided the music were the Serenaders and Desjardine’s. Kin Gord Baynham was in charge of the evening.
