Fred Paul Thomson, aftex* serving three years as pastor of the Parkdale Evangel Taber- uiacle in Ottawa, has begun his duties as pastor of the Lucan i Pentecostal Holiness Church, i made vacant by the resignation of Rev. J. A. Graham. Air. Thomson was raised and educated in Ottawa graduating from the Salvation Army Univer­ sity of Toronto in 1940. He was an officer in the Salvation Army preaching in Northern Ontario. Lie also spent five years in the army. , The Lucan Pentecostal Church will hold its first anniversary services August 18-19. The Sat­ urday service will take the form of a concert with mostly local talent. On Sunday Mr. Thomson will take charge of the services. ROSS SKINNER Mr. Steve Storey, Mrs. Sheri­ dan Bevington and Mrs. Ed Conlin took, the members of Lucan’s Pee-wees and Bantams for a picnic to Gibbon’s Park last Wednesday afternoon, Swim­ ming, a- ball game and, of course, refreshments were high­ lights of the outing. < Hugh Conlin, on behalf of the boys, thanked the Biddulph Council for its donation, part of which was used to finance the outing, and Frank Egan thank­ ed those who took them to the park and had charge of the pic­ nic, Baseball News The third game in the Thames Valley finals was played in Lucan Friday night with. Lucan losing to Granton 2-1. The Lucan battery was White and Hodgins and Granton, Jones and Wine­ garden. The series now stands at 2-1 for Lucan, The next game will be played at Granton Tuesday night. Ford Reunion Mrs. -T. Brooke and family and Mrs. Harold McFalls and Gary were among the 55 who attended the Ford reunion at Canatara Park, Sarnia, last Sunday. Representatives were there from Flint, Detroit, Han­ over, London, Exeter and Lu­ can. The afternoon was spent in games and swimming. London Church Wedding Scene In a setting of pink and white gladioli at St. Aidan’s Church, St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, Rev. A. J. Ostle united in mar­ riage Carole Diane Brooke, daughter of Mr, Grant Brooke, Lucan, and Ronald P. Coleman, son of Mr. Jack Coleman, Lon­ don. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gowned in white nylon tulle over blue taf­ feta, with Queen Anne collar and finger-tip sleeves. A lace tiara formed -her headdress. She carried a white prayer book covered with red r.osebuds. Miss Beverley Brooke, Lucan, as maid-of-honor for her sister, chose a blue eyelet gown, cock­ tail length, and wore a corsage of pink roses. The groom’s attendant was William Allen, <?f Lucan. A reception was held at the home of Mrs. T. Brooke, Lucan, grandmother of the bride. Mrs. Brooke received in a navy crepe dress with pink carnation cor­ sage. After the reception, the bride and groom left Jor a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. The bride wore a blue and white crystalette ensemble with white accessories and corsage of pink carnations. The young couple will make their home in.
