Higenell performed the double ring -ceremony Satur­ day, April 31, in a setting of white candles, snapdragons and ferns in Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, which united in holy wedlock Margery Victoria Lor­ etta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Keller, Hay Township, and Beverley Ernest Lloyd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Linden­ field, Exeter. Mrs. Edgar Restemayer, Dash­ wood, played traditional wedding music and also accompanied Mrs. Robert Burns o-f Detroit, e-ousin of the groom, as she sang “The Lord's Prayer’’ and “Because”. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charming in an ankle-length gown of French lace, tight fitting bodice with hooped skirt of tiered nylon tulle falling over moire taffeta. Hen fingertip veil was held with a tiara of rhinestones. She wore a rhinestone necklet and bracelet, the gift of -the groom, and car­ ried a pillow -of satin, crested with red roses. Bridal Attendants The maid of honor, Mrs. Max Learn, Exeter, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids, Miss Mary Wells, Exeter, cousin of the groom, and Miss Norma Keller, London, cousin of the 'bride, wore identically -styled dresses in lace ovei’ taffeta in yellow, mauve and turquoise, matching sequin trimmed tulle headdresses and carried white Bibles -crested- with mums co-lored to match their dresses. The -little flower girls, Miss Janice Floody, of Windsor, and Miss Sue Ann Lindenfield, cousins of the groom, were dressed 'alike in yellow -tulle over satin with white -1-acey shoes. Our call for recipes brought us a letter from Miss Dorothy Kuntz of Windsor. She used to he odr neighbor and is sitil'l playing the role of a good neighbor even 'though .she has left .the old home Itown. The T.A. still goes to her and ishe gets a great deal of enjoyment from this portion of the paper she tells us. iSo when you ifeel like trying oult some different -cookie recipes we hope you’ll ha-v-e good luck with 'these. Peanut Oatmeal Strips (Miss Dorothy Kuntz.) . % -cup -sifted flour 1 -tsp. baking .powder % ,tsp. -cinnamon % ts.p. allspice % -cup rolled oats 4 Tbsp, seedless raisins U -cup finely chopped peanuts or walnuts U cup .bu-tter Yi .cup peanut butter % cup brown sugar % eup milk. Sift -together flour, baking powder and spices. Combine oats, raisins -and nuts. Cream together butter and -peanut -butter. (Blend in sugar. Add fl-ouir and milk’ al­ ternately -stirring until well blen­ ded. Add oat mixture and mix well. Pour into well .greased 8 inch square pan lined with greas­ ed waxed paper. 'Bake in moder­ ate 375° oven for 25 to 30 min­ utes, from. ¥2 1 -tsp. vanilla ■2 cups ohtmeal 1 cup brown -sugar 1 tap. baking powder. ■Combine sugar, oatmeal and -baking powder. Melt butter 'and add vanlilila and pour over the dry ingredients and star unltil oat­ meal is coated with -butter. Press initq. -8 inch square pan. (Bake -for 1i0‘ .minuit-es in 3 5 0 0 -oven. In going 'through our recipe box w-e came across one for cho­ colate cake which Mrs. Ed Lin- dentfield (gave us and by mistake it had been put with those al­ ready printed. 'Chocolate c-ake is a year-round -favorite and this one seems easy to put together. Chocolate Cake (Mrs. Ed Lindenfield) 1 -Bring (to -a boil: 1 -cup 'brown -sugar 2 Tbsp, cocoa 1 cup sweet -milk Combine: 2 eggs 1 -cup brown sugar % cup butter ¥2 'cup sour milk pinch of salt 1 tsp. vanilla. Add second -mixture to cooked part then add following sifted in­ gredients: 2 cups flour 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. -baking powder (heap­ ing) Ba.ke in moderate oven in -lay­ ers or loaf tin.
