With the basement -suit ably arranged, practices are held regularly there. Most of those concerned directly with the stag ing pt the play were present. Mrs. Dinney and Mrs. Eraser showed the colorful orange cos tumes which will be worn by the inmates of Sunnydell Asylum, Although much remains to be dope, the first act moved with a promising smoothness. Audrey Bentley’s natural portrayal of Dr. Carraway is certainly worth a comment. She has a difficult role to make convincing. Gerry Godbolt, too, gives an enthusiastic and lively interpreta tion to the role of the butler. Claudette (Sweitzer rolls her eyes with the smoothness of ball bearings, it is not difficult to believe she is quite mad. Coupled with the screeches of Edna Glaab as Laura Haycx-op, this pair form an effective contrast to the more dignified Dr, Beebe, convincing ly portrayed by Burton Morgan. Mary Giles (Betty Beckler) and Bobo ('Betty Link) add to w< the confusion of this fantastic plot with a welbcapitured spirit of idiocy and burlesque. The. executive of the Players* Guild wish to remind patrons that late comers will not he seated until the end of act one. We re quest your cooperation in thi§ matter.
