A. meeting with prayers as­ sisted by Mrs. Roundell, Mrs. Knox and Mrs. M. Blacker. The Guild meeting was con­ ducted by Mrs. Harold Davis. The treasurer, Mrs. Ei’ic Humphreys, gave a report of the year’s activi­ ties, showing a good balance. Plans were made for the vestry supper on January 23. Mrs. W. Irvine conducted a contest. Host­ esses were Mrs. C. Dobson, Mrs, M. Blackler and Mrs. Roundell. The United church are holding their annual congregational meet­ ing this week on January 18. WM.S. and W.A. Meeting Mrs. Fred Roger was hostess to the W.M.S. and W. A. mem­ bers for their January meeting. Mrs. J. H. Anderson was in charge of the worship period as­ sisted by Mrs. Everett Doupe, Mrs* C. Baillie,’ Mrs. Herman Paynter and Mrs. G. H. Burgin. IMr-s. Clarence Switzer gave a chapter from the study book with Mrs. M. Gallop, Mrsf M. Gregory, Mrs." Earl Watson and Mrs. Wes. Doupe taking part. Mrs. Fred Switzer played a piano . instru­ mental. A Christian Stewardship reading was given by Mrs. Lome Marshall. Yearly reports were given by the secretaries. The W. A. meeting was in charge of the president, Mrs. Al­ vin Crago who opened the meet­ ing with "A recipe for a happy new year.” Arrangements were made for the banquet in February, The management committee was ap­ pointed at an executive meeting Monday. • A teachers and officers meet­ ing of the United church Sunday school met at the home of Mr. and Mrs.W. R. K-irkby Thursday evening. A three month’s pro­ gram was planned. Visual aid was one of the features discussed. The executive of the W.M.S. and W.A. met at the parsonage Monday afternoon A year’s pro­ gram was arranged and printed copies will be available to every family. Hillcrest Farm Forum The Hillcrest Farm Forum vot­ ed that farmers will solve their (agricultural problems more ef­ fectively as members of farm or­ ganizations. Organizations -can present constructive policies to the government and help the gov­ ernment to understand the needs of the farmer better than the in­ dividual. As members of the forum they suggest that each township should have an elected representative to meet with all -other township rep­ resentatives and they in turn ap­ point one of their number as a representative to go to Ottawa and stay there all the time par­ liament is in session to place the interests and needs of ALL ag­ ricultural producers of the coun­ ty before the government. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sigsworth were hosts to the forum.
