Students are bearing down on songs, dances and skits just as they bore down on studying for exams.Every student has a chance* to .participate in this exciting an­ nual event and we expect that this year’s “iCommencement" will be bigger and better than ever. MEET THE TEACHER One of the recent additions to the staff of South Huron (District High School is Mr. R. F. Mereu. A teacher of senior mathema­ tics, be completed his high school' education in London. After re­ ceiving his B.A. degree at the University of Western Ontario, Mr. Mereu continued with gradu­ ate -studies at the University of Toronto, receiving his M.A. following year. Subsequently, he worked in the Eastern provinces with the ' partment of meteorology. In 19'5-5, he attended summer school at t»he -College of Education joined this staff that fall. U, & Downs , 35 G. Men’s Broomball Organization The league shall be known as the Exeter Recreation Broomball League and a trophy donated by Ron Westman will be presented to the playoff champion. Rules and regulations: Equipment—Broom may off up to the binding and or covered with canvas or „,__ A knob of tape must also be on the handle. Any protective equip­ ment may be worn. Teams—Consist of at least 12 men. Starting lineup consists of goalie, two 'defence and three for­ wards. A captain to be the repre­ sentative of the team on the ice. Playing area—Shall be the whole ice surface, The only markings on the ice to be recog­ nized by referees and players are goal crease, as in hockey, and centre ice face-off circle. Red line-centre line to be the only place an offside infraction will be recognized. ■Playing rules—Adapted from hockey. Penalties—Kicking the ball or batting it with hands, two min­ utes (ball may be played from any other part of body); high sticking, any broom above the shoulders, two minutes; board­ ing, tripping, charging, interfer­ ence, elbowing and penalty shot, etc. as in hockey rules. • Cost of ice time—$7.00 per game or $3.50 for. each team. Referee $1.00, Playing time—Two 15-minute straight time periods, last or third period to. be duration of hour designated in schedule. Vesper Service Groups of C.G.I.T. girls getting ready for the annual Christmas Vesper Service. In all the 10 provinces, .groups of teen­ age girls will take part in this rededication of the ideals and purposes of the C.G.I.T. All these groups will follow this same order of service prepared by the National C.G.I.T. Committee. To date C.G.I.T. services have been announced in Grand Bend, Centralia and James St,, Exeter, on Sunday evening, December 18.
