The guest speaker, Mrs. Sher- dian Revington, of Lucan, pres­ ented an interesting and inform­ ative topic, “What Christmas means to me”. It was decided to donate $4.00 from the Birthday Box Fund to ■the War M e m o r i a-1 Children’s Hospital, and Mrs. Arnold Blake demonstrated her Beauty Coun­ selor products. -Each member brought a gift, daintily wrapped, to be given to ”Cra igh ol me” at Ailsa Craig. 'Mrs. Ernest Lewis won the host­ ess prize. Miss M. Thompson, teacher and pupils, have set Monday evening ‘December 19 for their Christmas concert at Clandeboye 'School No. 4 and 12. Mrs. W. PHONE 17 PHONE 299 Tommy Thompson District Farmer n Funeral services for Mr. Tom­ my Thompson, 84, who died at home of his niece, Mrs. Fred Tuke, on Thursday, were held from the Evans funeral home, London, on Monday with Rev. J. A. O. McKennitt officiating. Interment was in Birr United Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clar­ ence Stanley, Chester Ryan, Frank Liddell, Emiel de Block, William McComb and Lewis. Son of the late Mr. Johnny Thompson, he two miles north of Lucan on the farm now occupied by Mr. John D. Casey. When a young man, he moved to Concession 16, Lon­ don Township, where he farmed most of his life. Six years ago he sold his fdrm and went to live with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tuke in London. He was one of the oldest members of Birr United Church. His wife, the former Isabella Patrick, predeceased him in 1932. He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Fred Tuke, of |London, and a nephew, Mr. Wilfred McNaugh­ ton, Concession 8, London Town­ ship. Involved In Accident Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan Reving- ton visited Mr; and Mrs. John Pollard of Mount Elgin last Sun­ day. Mr. and Mrs. Pollard were involved in a car accident near their home on Friday night. Mr. Pollard is now out of the hos­ pital but Mrs. Pollard is still in Victoria Hospital, partially para­ lyzed. Biddulph Fire 'Last Sunday morning firemen from Lucan, Granton and St. Marys were called to the farm of Elmer Harleton in Biddulph Township, where a driveshed and henhouse were destroyed by fire. A loss of $3,000 included 200 hens. However, the three depart­ ments were able to save the home of Mrs. Armand Jermyn; - Mrs. Allan Hodgins Mrs. Allan Hodgins, 73, passed ’away suddenly at her late resi­ dence in Ilderton last Sunday evening. Funeral services were held from the C. Haskett and Son funeral home, Lucan, Wednesday with interment Littlewood Cemetery,. ■' Mrs. Hodgins, the former Martha O’Neil, was the daughter of the late Hiram and Frances O’Neil, of Lopdon Township, She lived with lier husband, Allan -Hodgins, on a farm until six years ago when .they moved to Ilderton. She was an active member of Ilderton United Church. She is survived hy her hus­ band and one brother, George O’Neil, of London Township. Personal Items Mr. and Mrs. H. Bond received word of the. death of his mother at Lau Bay, N.S., last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McIntyre, Gary and Mrs. Cook, of Glencoe, were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Abbott. •Mr. E.
