To those who supported me ip any way in the election last Monday. I will continue to act, at all times, in any way to benefit the Town of Exeter.Exeter Mohawks’ four-point victory over Forest Lakesides Fri day night has kept " “ “ top of the WOAA this week. As of Wednesday hawks were two .points ahead. of Strathroy Rockets and Jud in a'l- most^aii other departments too. ■Bill Obeble’s tour goals against Forest jumped him into first spot in the scoring race, one point a- head of Junior Barash. .-Oberle actually -gets credit for eight goals because the four-point con test is considered as two games. Gar Baker dropped out of first place in the goaltending race Monday night when Gerry -Hesse, -of Goderjch, held Forest to -a sin gle tally during the jailors’ 4-1 victory. Hesse, the defending champion goalie, hias an average of 3.50 goals per game. Baker’s mark is 3.75. Earl Barton, of Mohawks, leads the penalty -parade with a full game—GO minutes—in the box. Tied for second place in this divi sion are Junior Barash, of Strath roy and Glen Wiese of the Mo hawks with 38 each. The Exeter club is by far the mdst penalized in the league. Mo hawks have spent 160 minutes in the cooler. Strathroy comes next with 123. the Tribe on Major Group morning, Mo- ninth goal at Kg.oo and Hick ■and Kirklaud scored for Forest late in the game. Red Loader, Harry McEwan, Don Gravett and Glen Wiese pick ed up two assists each during 'lhe contest. Forest Coach O-llie Haddon and Don Fritzley, who started with Mohawks last year, received Ki- minute misconducts in the third for swearing. with the club Wednesday night- It’s possible th© new man may be in the lineup Friday might when Mebawiks meet Milverton Royals here. The Exeter dlufe. was. given per mission to sign a replacement for McEwan ^t a special w-OAA meet ing in CJiuton ou Sunday, The player must not he pf Senior **B” calibre, or better, however. At the same meeting, Forest Lakesides received permission to add two waivers to -their roster to compete with the “A” dubs. The waivers will 'have to be drop ped at playoff time. The case of ”Tex” McPherson, former Kitchener Junior MA” star came up for considerable discus sion but no action has been taken* 'It’s understood McPherson has signed two certificates, one for Exeter and one for Goderich. Al though Mohawks .signed him first, the Sailors claim he is their prop erty and they used him Monday night against Forest. McPherson scored uue gojiiJ. and qup uasist in Goderich’s 4-1 win. The WQAA.has refused te rule op, McPherson because he hasn’t been officially registered by eith er club.club.Congratulations... It ’was the first time the two clubs' have met this winter. The Tribe broke out of its two- game losing streak displaying the skilful combination play which brought its earlier victories. But for hitting the goalposts and mis sing the net by inches, Mohawks would have won with a wider margin. It was. Bill Oberle’s night to dent the twine and he did it four times before the final' whistle. Bill Warnsby and Ray Richards each scored twice and Glen Wiese tallied the first Exeter goal. Forest took a 1-0 lead early in the game when Red Graham scored from Randall and Hick. Wiese tied it uip and O-berle put Mohawks one goal ahead. The Kitchener flash scored two more goals in the second period and Jack Wright added one for Forest to make it 4-2. Mohawks wrapped in five goals in as many minutes of the third period. Bill Warnsby fired two quick ones at the three-minute mark and Riay Richards and Ober- le added others in rapid succes sion.
