Hay Delays Drain Work Hay Council postponed adop­ tion of an engineer's report on repairs to the Stephen drain fol­lowing the presentation, of a pe­ tition at the meeting last week. The petition, demanded that the Council refrain from cleaning out the drain. A delegation, of back­ ers waited on council. The report was submitted by C. P. Corbett, O.L.S., of Lucan. At the request of the township of Usiborne, the Hay council or­ dered a survey for the repair of the open portion of the Wurm Drain. 'Boxing Day, December 26, was declared a holiday. The accounts included $1,400 to William Lawrence for the com­ pletion of the Eacrett drain; $945 to Mrs, Marjorie William, and $10,000 to SHIDHS IRoad accounts included $1,590 to F. C.
