Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dickert visited on Sunday with the form­ er’s mother, who is ill in Listowei Hospital. Mrs. R. Dinsdale, who has been very ill, is slightly improved. The program was Arranged by Mrs. Inez McEwan and 7' George Walker, with Mrs. Ewan presiding. Mrs. Pearl Baynham and ( B. Edwards assisted with worship service. Mrs. James Bonthron favoured with a solo, Mrs. S. Dougall, ‘president of the organization introduced the guest speaker for the afternoon,' Mrs. D. Glenn ’Campbell, of Seaforth who spoke on the theme “It is more blessed to give than to re­ ceive” She stressed the thought that “Giving” needs money, time and talent.” Mrs. W. R. Bell was presented with a Life Membership, by Mrs. Malcolm D o u g.a 11. Mrs. Wm. Brown, and Mrs. .Harold .Bell, contributed a duett. Rev. D. Mac­ Donald, minister of the church,, closed the meeting with the ben­ ediction. A social hour was enjoy­ ed. Honor Bride-Elect ■Complimenting Miss Marga-ret Parker of London, bride-elect of late November, Mrs. iStan Dickert, of London, was hostess for a presentation at her home Friday evening, when a number of friends met to honor Miss Parker with a miscellaneous shower. Mis® Parker was the recipient of many lovely gifts. A recreation period of contests was enjoyed and luncheon served. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Parker, of Hensall. A solo was sung by Ruth Howe and a trio by Alice Walker, Mar­ garet Wallace and Mildred Howe. The meeting closed with taps. Hallowe’en Party A Hallowe’en party was held at the school on Friday’ evening. Those winning prizes for their costumes were: Sandra Ramsay, for best dressed^ lady; David Scott, best boy; Marlene Dow, best comic costume, and Laura Chappel, best dressed child. Dancing followed with music provided by Messrs. Angus Mc- Kaig and Nelson Howe and Mrs. Harvey Dow. Rev. N. Reid, of Avonton, oc­ cupied the pulpit on Sunday in the absence of Rev. S. Mr. William Kerr, of Malton, spent the weekend with his wife and family. Legion Ladies Auxiliary Mrs. D. McKelvie chaired the meeting of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held in the Legion Hall Tuesday and announced that the Auxiliary will march Remem­ brance Day, November 11, from the school to the Ceneotaph and will place a wreath. They will also cater to the Legion men’s supper in Decem­ ber; will sponsor a raffle draw to take place before Christmas. Nominations were held in charge of Mrs. L. Sangster.
