pointed to act as a resolution.

It was decided by resolution;—
That the women of Zone 2 go
on record in giving strotlg sup-
port to the work of the Ontario
Temperance Feeleratigm.
That women in this Federation
both individually and in their
local organizations to the Eliza-
beth Frey Society of Toronto in
setting up the Agnes McPhail
Memorial Scholarship Fund.
That driving regulations for
this province be amended if ne-
cessary and strictly enforced to
prevent the slaughter that is
taking place on our highways and
county roads,
That we recommend that a
field woman be provided for the
province by the Ontario Feder-
ation of Agriculture,
That provision be made by the
O:F.A. to send a woman delegate
to the annual meeting of the
C.F.A.
Discussion on V.Q.N. service in'
each county brought out the in-
formation that a. survey of county
services must precede any defi-
nite action and it was felt that
each county 'would do well to
have this survey made as a pre-•
liminary step.
The annual meeting of the
women in the Ontario Federation
of Agricutlire will be held in the
King Edward Hotel, Toronto, on
October 31, and it is urged that
each county in this zone send
good representation to help in

At Grand Bend
The executive *meeting of the
South Huron District of the
Women's Tastitute was held in
the town halt, Hensall', Friday
afternoon last, and was chaired
by Mrs. Kenneth Johns of Elim-
ville, president of South Huron
District. Seven branches were re-
presented at the meeting.
'Thereport of the .Area Con-
vention at London was given by
Mrs. Andrew Dougall. Tile Coun-
ty Rally is to be held In 'Grand
Bend united Church Tuesday,
November 22, Mrs. McPhatter,
president of the F.W.I.O, of Owen
Sound, will be the guest speaker,
Mrs. H. Filsinger, Home Econo-
mist for this district will also be
present.

At their meeting last Wednes-
day night, Pride of Huron Re-
bekah Lodge accepted an invita-
tion from District 27 A to attend
Friendship Night at the I.O.O.F.
Temple, London on (Saturday
night, October .29. Those wishing
to go will meet at the lodge
rooms at 7 p.m.
A donation of $10 was voted
to the C.N.L•B. fund.

The meeting, conducted by the
newly -installed noble grand, Mrs.

at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Jefferson, Fullerton, for the mar-
riage of their daughter, Eva Joyce
to Gordon James Laing, son of
Mt. and Mrs, Thos. Laing, Orem-
arty on Saturday last.
The ceremony was performed
by Rev. Mr. Newnham, FulIarton.
Louise Jefferson, Auburn, played
traditional wedding music,' The
soloist, ,Mrs. T. L. Scott, Crom-
arty, sang "0 Perfect Love" and
"Abide With Me" .playing her
own accompaniment on the auto-
harp. •
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a strapless
white late and net gown over
satin with bolero. A headdress of
net held her 'finger-tip veil. She
carried a bouquet of red roses,
white mums and stephanotis.

One of our friends has told its
that she would like to see some
recipes for casserole or supper
dishes. We've been 'thinking the
same thing for on a crisp, fall
day what is -more tempting than
a brown, bubbling supper dish
right from the oven?
Mrs. 'Hugh Love sent us her
recipe for ,a 'tuna fish Band mac-
aroni dish Iwo feel sure you'll
like. It's similar to :Mrs. tPen-
hale's salmon casserole,
TUNA OASSET4I
(Mrs. (Hugh' LovROe)
'2 cups cooked macaroni
1 eight -ounce can tuna
(flaked)
1 can mushroom soup
can milk
4rrange 'macaroni and tuna
fish in layers in greased casser-
ole. Pour soup and milk mixture
over all. Sprinkle with 'biscuit
(numbs. Dot with hatter And bake
in 400° oven until brown.

pastry recipe she used to make
her prize winning pies. She adds
that it keeps well in the refrig-
erator- and ,rolls easily,

1 tsg, . salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. shortening
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Water.
Sift together flour, salt and
bakingpowder. Cut in shorten-
ing and add sugar. *Beat egg in
a eup and add water to make
cup liquid. Add vinegar. Mix
and roll.

RAISIN PIE

1 cup brown sugar
2 • Thep. 'flour
Pinch of salt
1 cup water
juice and grated rind of 1
lemon
1 cup or more chopped raisins.
Mix sugar, flour and salt. Add
water and lemon juice and blend
well. (Stir in grated rind and
raisins and cook mixture over
hot water for 115 aninutes. When
cool pour into pastry -lined pie
plate. Covet ?with top crust or
cut pastry in stripe for lattice
