They're looking for a coach to replace —Please turn to Page 1.0 Only Two Attend Minor Meeting Only two men, outside of mem- bers •of the Recreation Council, attended the reorganization meet- ing of the Exeter Minor Athletic Association Tuesday night, Another attempt to held a meeting will be •held next Tues day night. In the meantime recreation council members decided to pre- pare a full statement of•the -costs of operating the minor setup last year, showing how the funds of the Legion, Lions and Kinsmen, the sponsoring organizations, were spent. The Recreation Council al- so contributed• out of its own funds to help pay for a coaching program. Total cost was over $1,000.' fPhe ;Council will present two proposals to the service clubs: one, to play only house hockey league on Saturday afternoons without •a coaching program; or two, to enter teams in W.O.A,A competition and hire a coach for them. All Exeter minor teams will be moved into "B" category as a re- sult of a population change in the regulations of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. The change provides that all towns between 2,500 and 7,500 be classed as "B". It is truly embarrasing, and how the puck ever got into the goal .when that legislation was passed has got me buffaloed. Smith 694) 36762971 70 Club Predicts Strong Team Exeter Mohawks will be strong contenders for the WOAA "A." title, Club'President Lloyd Cush- man said Wednesday night at the Booster Banquet, "I feel we_ 'have a much stronger club ',than last year," the president said, ',and with the proper financial help I don't see why we can't go out and take the WOAA championship." Playing -coach Red Loader, who also addressed the 150 fans, pre- dicted "our team will be 100 percent stronger." "We have a good defence," he said, "and our forwards are stronger, faster and better around the net." Club Director Bruce Biggart listed the new players signed by the club. Four are from Kitchen- er and two from Stratford. Quite a few aspirants are fighting for spots on the team, he said. Red Scott, donor of the club's new uniforms, was thanked by officials. Hugh Hawkins, past president of the WOAA, and Alf Lickridge, WOAA manager, spoke about the growth of the Association. It now has more intermediate teams than the OHA. ,.Other speakers included W. G.
