Exeter Community Park
Will Not Benefit
From Lower.. Rate
Exeter will not receive much
+benefit from the new Ontario
hydro rates which come into ef-
fect on September 1, P.U:C, Man-
ager Ken Lamprean'• said Wed-
nesday.
The reduction means a saving
of only 3300, a year for the local
office, compared to thousands of
dollars in other centres.
Lowering of the rates is the
result of a new accounting sys-
tem which eliminates distance as
a measure of cost. 1V lunicipalities•
have been paying .Ontario hydro
for power according to the dis-
tance they are from the source
but because of the growth of
Western Ontario, more and more
communities are being supplied
through original facilities.
Manager Lampman said the
reduction hero is only 25 cents
per kilowatt year bringing the
rate from $47.26 down to $47.00.
Exeter uses about 1,400 kilowatts
a year.
In other commhnities the
charge has been reduced as much
as $3.50 per kilowatt year.

been manager at Stratford since
November 1947, has announced
that he and his office will join

Since 1946, over 1,000 base-
