Kinsmen are planning to cook
seven (bushels of wihte beans to
feed a crowd of 3,000 and to use
600 pounds of cabbage for a new
side -dish of cole-slaw.
'Held for the first time last
year, the Festival has already
spotlighted the district as the
bean centre of the province. Kins-
men have participated in nation-
wide television and radio inter-
views in attempts to promote
more use of beans and to publi-
cize the festival.
Activities in the arena this
year will be staged on the new
cement floor laid last month by
Kinsmen with the aid of volun-
teers from the area. Some of the
profits from last year's festival
went into the expenses of the
floor and the club hopes the pro-
ceeds from this Labor Day will
pay off the balance.
Dr. D. 3. McKelvie, Hensall
veterinarian, is president of the
club; Bill Mickle is •president-
elect.
