and to the churches and indivi-
duals who contributed baskets of

.Mr. Ed Butler, chairman of the
building board, gave .a detailed
account of events from the diffi
eulties "in securing a site to the
nearly 'completed building. He
told of the bulging of a basement
wall and the collapse of the raft-
ers, the replacing of the wiring
and the difficulty of the ceiling.
Rev. J. Taylor, Conference
Superintendent, of Toronto, dedi-
cated the church and was the
guest speaker,
Reeve Harold Corbett brought
greetings from the council and
Rev. E. M. Cook brought greet-
ings from the United Church.
Rev. 3, F. Wagland was unavoid-
ably absent at the Friday eve-
ning service jut extended greet-
ings from the Anglican Church at
the :3,00 p.m...service Saturday,.
Rev. A. Noseworthy, of Weston,
was the guest speaker at both the
Saturday services and the pastor,
Rev. J. A. Graham, had Charge
of the Sunday services.

Enjoys Picnic
The August meeting of Holy
Trinity Women's Auxiliary took
the form ,of a picnie meeting and
was held at the Corbett farm last
Wednesday. • This meeting is one
the members look forward to
each year.
The rector, the Rev, J. F. Wag-
land, opened and closed the meet-
ing which was presided over by
president, Mrs. T. C. McFarlane.
Mrs. William Brownlee and Mrs,
Harold Hodgins assisted.
Three former members from
the MoCormick Home, Mrs. K.
Hodgins," Mrs, F. McLean' and
Miss Minnie Ryland, also mem-
bers from the Ailsa Craig branch,
were present. Two crib quilts
presented by Miss Ryland were
displayed.
Thk' president reported on the
recent trip to the Mohawk In-
stitute. Mrs, Wagland followed
with an interesting account of the
Clergy's Camp on Lake Simcoe
at Big Bay Point where the fam-
ilj' 'spent a three-week vacation
recently.
The president reported Miss
Marion Ashworth will be the new
C.G.I.T. assistant.
While lunch was being prepar-
ed, Miss Lina Abbott conducted a
contest which, if facial expres-
sions were any indication, proved
very puzzling to many.
Mrs. U. F. Stanley won the
lucky chair prize.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Paynter,
of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Jack
MacDonald, of Sarnia; Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Ayres, Sarnia; Mr• and
Mrs. N. Trowhill, Mr. and Mrs,
Art Hodgins, of London, and Mr.
and Mrs. Jack MacDonald, of
Hamilton, were guests at a family
reunion at the home of Mr. and

noticed until he felt the burn.
Mrs. Emma Downing, whose
home was destroyed, was taken
to Mason Villa Monday evening.

lice Monday night in the small
'brick house across the street
from his home, which was vacat-
ed by the death of Mr. Eddie
Iiawkshaw• Mrs. George and
family are still in New /Bruns-
wick.
Jim McKinney
Dies. On Trip
The whole village was shocked
to hear of the sudden death of
Mr. Jim McKinney on Saturday
evening. He, and Mrs. Edgar Mc -
Falls left Saturday noon for
Chicago to visit Mr. McKinney's
nephew. Upon. arrival, Mr. Mc-
Kinney took a heart attack and
died shortly after. He had been
in poor health for some time.
His body arrived in London on
Monday when funeral arrange-
ments were made.
Mr. McKinney made his home
with Mr. and Mrs. Morella for
a number of years prior to re-
turning to Kincardine. For some
months he assisted in the nursing
of Mr. Henry Hodgins after his
`accident.
Golden Wedding
Over 100 guests and friends
registered at the golden wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Phineas Dickins held in the
Lucan Community Centre last
Saturday evening and 38 mem-
bers of the immediate family sat
down to a family dinner, prior to
the "at home" from 9 p,m. to 12.
During the evening, Mr. and
Mrs. Dickins were presented with
a purse of money. Rev. Harold
Dickins, of Rochester, gave the
address • and Mrs. F. Coates, of
Exeter, made the presentation.

spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
H. A, Mullins and family, Lon-
don,family. and had as Sunday guests,
Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Abbott and

Port Stanley, the guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Bruce Abbott. They
found the former much improved
in health and able to be back to
work.
