derson who sang and a violin and
piano instrumental was given by
Ann and Marie Sinclair. A few
contests followed.
Wilma was then called to a
decorated chair over which hung
the traditional decorated sprin-
kling ten and an address was
read by Miss Isabelle Caldwell.
A decorated basket laden with•
many useful gifts waspresentedted
by Miss Elaine Bell and Miss Pat.
Lovell. Wilma made a fitting
reply and all joined in singing
"For She's a Jolly Goad Fellow”.
Refreshments were served in the
Sunday School rooms.
The ladies were invited to the
bride's home to see the trousseau.

day at two p.m. when ra public-
service was conducted by Rev.
N. McLeod. Mr. Thos, Sherritt,
of Hensall sang a solo.
Interment was made in Hensall

Thomson Reunion,
On Wednesday, July 13, the
Thomson family gathered at Riv-
erview Park, Exeter, to hold their
seventeenth annual reunion.
The weather was perfect for
swimming which :many children
enjoyed. Sports were 'followed by

boys.

The Women's 1Vlissionary Soci-
ety, of Hensall United Church,
met in the church schoolroom for
their July meeting, with Presi-
dent Mrs. George Armstrong con-
ducting the meeting. Group
Leader Mrs. L. Filer called on
Miss A. Consitt, Mrs. G. Thomp-
son. and Mrs. G. Hess to give the
last chapter of the study book
on Japan. Mrs. H. McEwan and
Mrs. Raye Paterson favored with

ducted a recreational period after
which members sat down to a
table centred with roses and en-
joyedi a pot luck supper.

accident near Part Rum Sunday
afternoon. A car driven by Earl
Bolden, crowded oft by another
car left the highway, careening
to the ditch striking a post. Two
Other passengers, Bill Clark, Kip -
pen, and Eric Doig, Egnmondville,
received cute and bruises. The
car, a late Pord-Meteor model,
was badly wrecked,
Miss Aliee Kyle was taken by
Bonbhron ambulance on Monday
to Clinton Community, 'hospital
with a fractured hip. MVliss Kyle,
who lives alone, suffered a fall
near her front door at about
10.30 p.m, Sunday evening but
managed to Brawl to the kitchen
where she lay until 6 a,m, Mon-
day morning, when she was found
by her nephew, William Kyle, of
Kippen,
Mrs. Wes Venner, a neighbor,
noticed a light burning in the
'house all night and upon investi-
gating 'and receiving g no response,

notified the nephew,
Miss Kyle will be in hospital
three months.
Doug Didk, who had his foot
badly crushed in an accident near
Mitchell when three logs rolled
off a truck, one of the logs Rail-
ing on his foot, and 'who has been
a• patient in Stratford. General
Hospital, had to have his toe
amputated at the hospital.
